Piss Poor Two-Faced Union. By Geniusofdespair

Monica Russo: Shame on you!

“Our members proudly endorse Senator Anitere Flores in Senate District 39,” said Monica Russo, President of SEIU Florida State Council.  “Senator Flores understands that too many families in her district and around Florida are struggling to make ends meet, and that no one working 40 hours a week should live in poverty. We will look to Sen. Flores’ leadership on economic reform that will raise wages for low wage workers, as well as tackle issues confronting immigrant families.”

This seat was fought hard for in redistricting and was meant to be a moderate, Democratic seat. How are we ever going to get a more balanced legislature? It has been overwhelmingly Republican and will remain so until the unions muster up some integrity. If they remain cowardly, sweeping up crumbs of promises from candidates, they will soon find themselves trying to claw  their way up from an agonizing decline due to the shenanigans of the very candidates they are sucking up to.

You are putting an endorsement on a self proclaimed conservative Republican. Your union sucks to endorse this candidate.  Flores has done squat for all issues important to us EXCEPT now she is a poser so she can win. I hope she continues to do nothing for unions because that is what they deserve from her. Maybe they will learn something about doing the right thing instead of selling their soul for empty promises.

There is a very good Democrat running for this seat: Debbie Mucarsel-Powell.

"This seat was fought hard for in redistricting and was meant to be a moderate, Democratic seat." Since when is setting voting districts supposed to be about awarding seats to one party or another. Enough already. They should be geographical boundaries that help in managing the logistics of election, not political ones.

In fair district lawsuit the districts became more geographic. It was not perfect, but this is a district for a moderate to have a chance not to just keep a conservative in it. It is a disappointment because this is as geographic as we can get and Democtats will actually be losing seats intstead of gaining any.

....Thanks to the self serving unions.

The democratic candidate, Debbie Powell, who is running in this district is way too far to the left in addition to being an unknown. All the money she's raising or spending of her own funds is very reminiscent of what Taddao did/does which has never worked down here. Raising money for good causes does not mean it will translate in to good public service or policy nor a good candidate. I would have been very happy if Bullard ran but he bailed on us in a seat he could have won against Flores due to back door deal making. The people always get screwed when politicians play around like they did with this race.

The party went to Taddeo first, she decided to run against Curbelo, then to Ana Rivas-Logan, she turned them down, then to Ron Saunders, Nope! Then to the Director of the Mexican coalition in Homested, she turned them down, Debbie was the fifth choice.

Don't think you can post campaign ads here for Rivas Logan. I read your list Everglades Foundation are bought and sold by FPL as is the candidate.

Andrew Korge's campaign manager said he left District 39 because the Florida democratic party and unions were supporting Flores due to a deal Oscar Braynon and the Unions cut with her.

Typical Democrats, blowing every opportunity to take back some power in Florida.

Ana Rivas Logan is a whack job. She is certifiably insane, and has a nasty republican voting record i.e. anti-environment, anti-gay, anti-choice, anti-public school, and pro-big oil and big sugar.

She should never be elected to a democratic seat, EVER!

The SEIU's endorsement of Flores is a cowardly move that fails to serve its members' interests, but likely won't make a difference in this particular campaign. From what I can see online, Flores (through her political committee Floridians for Strong Leaders) is the recipient of at least $15K in campaign contributions from Wal-Mart this election cycle. Flores clearly does not represent the interests of working people. Whatever political deal the SEIU and Flores (and Braynon?) struck, it's pitiful. Luckily, we have a strong democratic candidate in Debbie Mucarsel-Powell running in the democratic-leaning district 39. We need someone like Mucarsel-Powell who has the experience of actually working in and improving our South Florida community and who is also a political outsider who can bring change to the broken and corrupt politics of Tallahassee.

Andrew, grow up! Everyone knows it's you posting this stuff. And as the devout Catholic you profess to be, let me remind you that "Raising False Witness" is a mortal sin!

Rivas-Logan, in spite of having suspended her campaign, and having very little money, got more votes than Korge!

Does anyone know Debbie's educational background?

Okay, everyone in Miami-Dade county has heard the rumor about Rivas-Logan sleeping with Oscar Braynon. It has been floating around for months based on opposition research. I got it out in public, if you have proof send it to me if not it is over.

Trolls keep bringing up private sex lives of women candidates. Please sink them on their merits.
