Fasig-Tipton Florida: Tapit colt lights up the night at $1.8 million
"A colt by two-time leading sire and commercial juggernaut Tapit lit up the night at the Fasig-Tipton Florida sale of 2-year-olds in training, selling for $1.8 million to bloodstock agent David Ingordo, signing the ticket for the partnership of Lane's End, Woodford Racing, and Robert LaPenta, Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.
The colt, consigned by Old South Farm, as agent, worked a furlong in :10 1/5 seconds during Monday's pre-sale under-tack show at Gulfstream Park. The performance, just a fifth of a second off the top times, helped him to finally change hands after being bought back for a staggering $1.2 million at the 2015 Keeneland September yearling sale.
The colt took over the sale lead at Fasig-Tipton, surpassing colts by Uncle Mo, Curlin, and Pioneerof the Nile who went for $1 million."
