The puzzle at the heart of 2012's most popular story at Eye on Miami, "Where in the world is Ana Sol Alliegro", has been partially solved by Miami New Times' Frank Alvarado.
Read all about it here. Congratulations, New Times!
PS. An anonymous reader left us a comment on March 20, that Alliegro was in Grenada, Nicaragua. Thank you, for that!

Who is Ana Alliegro? My memory is a bit sketchy since I fell off my bed and bumped my head.
Great work by Mr. Alvarado and New Times.
LOL - This is definitely on my top four list of only in Miami stories. No one guessed running a hair salon in Nicaragua! The other three are contained within this story of Ana.
Gimlete, when are you and Alvarado going to work on the book? Can it be your 2nd one with the first being the US Century Great Destroyers Still Stealing Our Tax Money? Or another one, White Guys Can Blog From Cuba!
And what about Marquito? There's a good reason, Ana is doing quite well in Nica. No Miami for that girl.
Kudos to Frank Alvarado for his outstanding investigative work.
Suggestion for his next project: a profile of what former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe Gersten has been up to in Australia since fleeing this country a decade or so ago after a scandal involving drugs, sex with prostitutes and filing a false police report.
The Miami New Times gets the story that the Miami Herald couldn't. Sad, sad state of affairs over at the floundering Herald.
Sing baby, sing.
She is alive! Thank goodness she is alive.
This story clearly shows why the Herald cannot be trusted. Period. End of story.
Ana was David Riveria's girlfriend, right?
