Marco Rubio's Modest Home? Not Quite. By Geniusofdespair

Rubio lives on a cul de sac, on a tree-lined street.

Marco Rubio's State of the Union response Tuesday, emphasized his middle class creds over and over. He said he lives in the "same working class neighborhood he grew up in." The neighborhood might be the same, but certainly not the home.  He neglected to tell the nation that he paid over half a million dollars for his 2,700 square foot, 4 bedroom home (on the market now for $675,000 according to Huffington Post). The average price for a home in Miami in 2005, when he bought his home, was about $225,000 to $250,000 (see graph below from Trulia). His home cost is about twice the average.

Marco, the purchase of a half million dollar house -- now for sale for $675,000 -- is not middle class. You neglected to mention that you also owned a second house with your BFF David Rivera.

The average home price in the South is $161,100. In April 2011 Robert D. Cruz, PhD. wrote in 2011 that the median price for a single family home sold in March was $159,800.

A middle class median income of $49,445 can hardly afford a half million dollar home. Rubio made over $200,000 in 2010, not even close to the median middle class income.

From OpenSecrets.org:

Marco Rubio is not rich by a long shot, but he ain't in a league with the middle class he was preaching to.

I have been a life long republican, leaning more moderate then Tea Party. I must admit, I could not have been happier when someone sent me a link to the Huffington Post article yesterday about the real Rubio. He is a bottom feeding scum bag. How he has been able to pull the wool over the eyes of the GOP tells me I am just no longer a GOP member. I'm in no man's land when it comes to political party's!

Annette Taddao (s/p) gave some great quotes about the real Rubio and how he has profited quite handsomely from government funding & PAC's!

As someone wrote yesterday, if Rubio is anywhere near running for Pres or VP, it will absolutely guarantee a win for the Dem's and they will have four more years!

The rest of the Country won't be fooled much longer, I certainly won't be nor have I been nor have I ever voted for him. This is not even getting in to the Rivera stuff!

Good bye GOP & good luck. If this is your poster child, you just lost Florida. I can see the National media really dig in to him and it will not be pretty!

Signed,
a new registered Independent voter, starting today!

Don't become an independent you can't vote in the primary of either party. I am a registered Republican at the moment but I change back and forth.

Don't mind, I added the link to my article.

Umm. You ought to have mentioned that Rubio got his mortgage for the criminal enterprise, US Century Bank, at a time when he had a negative net worth. Wonder how that happened?

How did Rubio generate this net worth, given that he essentially never practiced law and his full time job has been as an elected official? His own Bio says he practiced law from 2008-2010 when he was also campaigning full time against Charlie Crist. http://www.rubio.senate.gov/about.cfm

If Rubio has an original idea in his head, that isn't plagiarized from the Bush family play book, let him talk unscripted for more than three minutes. He is THE Manchurian candidate of our times. Shame on the media for failing to penetrate the Rubio gloss.

Is Marco Rubio still the senator from Florida? All I read and hear about is his ambitious national endeavors. He is traveling all over the United States e. g. Iowa, Carolinas, N.Y. he is all over the place. He needs to start working for Florida.
