Is Charlie Crist's best strategy to switch parties? By Geniusofdespair

I am reprinting this because I think Crist's best strategy is to run as an Independent, I don't agree with the Democratic part Daily Kos suggests, because the Democrats will be too stupid to embrace him, but I agree Crist has to switch parties as my idea -- of us switching parties -- isn't working. I can't get any of my knucklehead Democratic friends to become Pubs to try to stop Rubio in the the primary. My friends will go down in flames with their principles: "I just can't do it" they say. And, my Stop-O Marco campaign is not gaining much traction since it's wildly popular launch last week.

The Daily Kos said Feb. 24th:

"Let's game this out:

Rubio is currently the comfortable frontrunner for the GOP nomination. If he defeats Crist, he's money for the Senate. Democratic nominee Kendrick Meeks won't present much of a challenge.

But here's the deal -- Crist is still a fairly popular governor. If he jumps to the Democratic Party, that gives Rubio a free shot in the primary, but he's going to win that anyway. But rather than have an easy romp in the general, he'd have to face Crist. And the general election isn't a closed Republican election dominated by conservative activists. Independents and moderates like Crist, and Democrats will fall in line.

But by all means, DeMint should continue taunting Crist. As I've said, there are only two people who can win this seat -- Crist and Rubio, and Crist won't win it as a Republican. Given the choice of the two, our choice shouldn't be hard."

Jump ship Charlie Crist, it is your only hope and...mine too!

I absolutely agree! I watched Rubio speak at the Tea Party. He was full of populist bull. He might as well have put on a skirt and talked like Sarah Palin.

*****me smiling at the genius of despair for his wisdom********
Now tell me as Democrat I can't vote for Crist? Ah....

Don't despair, genius! Marquito might have just stabbed himself right in the ___ ! Read the front page story by Beth and Scotty. Mr. Rubio might have imploded, and he might not have a good rebuttal!

You remember that Shaggy song, Wasn't Me? About a guy caught red handed with another woman by his girlfriend...well I see the 'wasn't me' working out very well with this one too.

I don't care who you vote for,as long as it is not Rubio, but in my view a vote for Meek is a wasted vote.

This strategy worked for Sen. Lieberman, it is not as off the wall as it might appear.

Crist doesn't need to leave the Republican Party. He's going to beat Rubio like he stole something, because Rubio stole plenty. Today's revelations about his GOP credit card are just the beginning. Jeb's boy is going to be reduced to quivering bowl of Jello.

Money still rules in the US. Crist has a lot more of it than the Turnpike gas contract man. It's going to be fun watching Rubio's hair mussed up.

You forget who votes in the primary last commenter. They only care that Crist gave Obama a hug. Nothing else will matter to these lunatics.

Money always wins over emotions. Yeah they're lunatics but they're not stupid. Anyway I thought YOU were voting in the Republican primary. You a lunatic? It's amazing someone with such political acumen still hasn't learned that money rules. It's how Obama, a Black man, got elected President. Just had more money than McCain.

They shut down the Sansom inquiry to protect Rubio. The credit card scandal is just the beginning as I said. Jeb's lapdog is toast.

Read the full story on the GOP credit cards -- Rubio paid back all personal expenses two years ago, long before any "scandal" broke. This is not a big story, except it shows Crist is going on offense anywhere he can.
As for switching parties, that isn't working out so well for Sen. Specter in Pennsylvania, so I doubt Crist will follow his lead.

Read the story, he didn't pay back the $4,000 on his car. How could a mishap at a garage valet cause $4,000 dollars of damages and rental car fees?

Rubio didn't pay back the $125 haircut either. Besides, he wasn't supposed to use that credit card AT ALL for personal expenses.
