Ivan Valdes might have masterminded a scheme to steal $5.2 Million from County Funds by choosing rigged bids and accepting kickbacks, but don't despair.
In 2008 Ivan Valdes got recognition for saving the County a whopping $1,000.
Judge Darrin Gayles gave Valdes 7 years in jail. Not for the $1,000, for the $5.2 Million. Where are the county watchdogs? Apparently awarding accolades to a thief in 2008.

FBI.
With Trump, Scott, Bondi and Putnam plus Carlos Gimenez Jr.: it is open season on the public treasury. Just watch.
The $1000 he saved was back when he was an angel. I wonder why no real investigative reporting is done anymore. Did anyone ever even consider that the $5.2 million is just an isolated case? Maybe Ivan is just a scapegoat or a decoy, so we look at him instead of inquiring that perhaps many $ millions more, to say the least, have disappeared rampantly. Makes one wonder!
The following related story is even more alarming.
"Reached by phone, Jose told the Miami Herald that he informed “the proper authorities” about Valdes’ offer. But he said he didn’t recall specifics, suggesting at one point in the interview that he might have spoken to the county’s inspector general. But neither prosecutors nor the Miami-Dade Inspector General’s Office recorded a tip-off from Jose, according to internal files."
