Game Changing Mailer Against Carlos Gimenez for Mayor. By Geniusofdespair

Miami-Dade Partnership for Prosperity, Inc. (Roland Sanchez Medina, Jr. and Pedro Gonzalez) put out this mailer.  To be fair Carlos Gimenez did return the contribution after the uproar ensued.

I forgot that Carlos Gimenez Jr. was working for Trump. It appears this Mailer went only to Democrats because I didn't get one. Trying to privatize this PUBLIC Golf Course on Key Biscayne was such a mistake. The County even took a $25,000 deposit from Trump on the deal but had to return it when the shit hit the fan. The County Commissioners didn't even know this was going on and some were really angry. So much for transparency. The citizens didn't have a clue. So much for guarding the assets of the people: This PUBLIC course.

This is a disgusting look at how corrupt and family ties pollute the political process. A vote for the current mayor will continue this money, power, lobbyist, connected influence peddling administration.

Wow. I had forgotten about that deal. But I do remember Gimenez willing to give Beckham Bicentennial (Museum) Park.

Let's not forget that the mayor and his (highly paid) deputies worked behind the scenes to put together the land deal for the mega mall in NW Dade. He could have put out a solicitation and had a competitive process to build something there, but instead he worked quietly behind closed doors with the developer.

Carlos Gimenez and City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado both work on deals in secret. "Friends and family" get special treatment. Disgraced ex-Mayor Manny Diaz and Disgraced Ex-Commish Marc Sarnoff were always scheming to give away taxpayer owned assets. Diaz schemed his way into paying gigs with Walmart and a huge billboard company. Who says crime does not pay?

Game changing then the disclaimer "To be fair Carlos Gimenez did return the contribution."

Really? To be honest, I never like Gimenez until I saw just how hard you've been pushing Regalado. I'll take the fireman any day over the failed attorney who couldn't make it in private practice.

Firemen are not in private practice + he's left a trail of colleagues who hate him.

Hated is right I was snooping around the city trying to find out his pension Not a lot of fans there.

He has the regular city pension from his fireman days (($10k) but his executive compensation for his days as city manager was a lump sum 401(k) since he wasn't there long enough to qualify for the managers regular pension. Problem is there seems to be no record of how much was that 401(k) payout
So technically he will collect three government pensions when he retires again. And don't kid yourself even though he's only excepting half the stipulated mayors regular salary his FRS compensation is based on the full amount starting with his years as commisioner multiplied times the highest five years of his county career (which would be his 8 years as mayor)

So with his pension and DROP money ( another esoteric FRS formula) , he'll walk out with AT LEAST a million dollar pension from the county. And the longer he lives, the more he collects. Plus executive benefit packages includes healthcare and some other crap for life

Word is that the Crandon Golf Course deal is not dead, only sleeping.

Must be nice to be the mayor of Miami Dade County. Where else can you get a parrot for an office spokesman, a puppet for a police director and a nut shell game expert for abudget director.

The City of Miami got a yo-yo expert for a commissioner.

I am beginning to think it is time for a woman to run Miami-Dade County. Gimenez and his scrum of lobbyists and consultants - don't forget about his driver/campaign finance chair taking $675,000 out of the Water and Sewer Department for his unlicensed contractor services - need to hit the road.

We have had two macho guys, a former police officer and a former firefighter, so maybe an educated woman with a law degree and a solid record of public service on the School Board, who is in her early 40s, is a good way to go.

I'm for Trump so I guess I wont be voting Regalado. Pretty dumb to insert the presidential race into a nonpartisan mayor race.

Raquel is taking the advice of morons. Elaine de Valle for one who hosts a blog and edits negative Raquel comments.

Real 2016 journalism, imagine a former Herald reporter suppressing free speech. This is what it's come to. Trump had 37,000 in Wisconsin tonight, Hillary had a few hundred in Philadelphia. It's a movement and both sides are scared of Trump, the people are with him. Turnout will be huge so the MSM is skewing polls so that turnout on the republican side is down.

NO CHANCE.

You posers werent voting for Raquel anyway. I think Trump is relavent because he wanted to make a sweetheart deal on our public golf course on Key Biscayne.
