Boletera Marta Campos talking to a Private Investigator Offering access to the elderly for a fee. |
The State Attorney's Office? Forget about it! Our State Attorney was knee deep herself in ballot fraud accusations in 2012 along with Mayor Gimenez so she will turn a blind eye. MDPD? Absolutely not! The current director, one of his chiefs and a recently promoted major were all involved in the 2012 absentee ballot investigations. They are willing to let sleeping dogs lie since they obstructed the 2012 ballot fraud investigations in exchange for promotions. They would not touch that skeleton with a 10 ft. pole. FDLE? Not a chance. Their current public corruption squad supervisor was the FDLE director in 2012 before she was demoted. She is good friends with our State Attorney and sat idle in 2012 while county investigators tried to put together cases against absentee ballot fraud violators. No help there either. The FBI? That hapless crew neither understands the game nor cares about our "little problem". They deem it as "business as usual in South Florida".
The scheme begins with the $3 million in campaign and PAC contributions that Gimenez has amassed from lobbyists, consultants, contractors and political gadflys.
The monies are funneled through Rafael Garcia Toledo through Gimenez's campaign manager Jesse Manzano and they are distributed to a cottage industry through ballot brokers such as Jose Luis Castillo, Al Lorenzo, etc.
Every area of the county is covered by the absentee ballot brokers who pay cash to a cast of "boleteras" and "phone bank operators" who by now have secured rights at every elderly care facility, lunch hall and elderly activity center.
The true crime occurs when the elderly, the mentally ill and infirmed are "assisted" by these unscrupulous boleteras to vote for Gimenez and whomever else is listed on their preferred ballot slates. The ballots are then transported back in bundles (in violation of county ordinance) to Gimenez's "campaign offices" and eventually dropped in the mail assuring a Gimenez win.
How prevalent is this crime you may ask? Gimenez's own county employee Dottie Vazquez is a ballot broker who is alleged to have collected hundreds of ballots in 2012. That is how she "earned" her county job and now works directly under Gimenez as a member of his office.
Marta Campos, a suspected Boletera talking to a private investigator, is alleged to have said she is being paid to collect ballots for Carlos Gimenez - among others. It is alleged that Dottie Vazquez campaigns for Carlos Gimenez on company time, is on his office payroll and is also was in charge of Absentee ballot collection for Gimenez in 2012.
This cottage industry makes our vote our vote worthless because elections are already won and lost by the time we go to the precincts. We suffer because our tax dollars are spent to ensure Gimenez's benefactors receive sweetheart county contracts.
The Boletrs only admitted getting money from DelRey.

This disgusting illegal absentee ballot collection is a practice that needs to be stopped so voters get fair, honest elections. There have been many elections over the last several years where candidates have won early voting and election day, but lost elections due to this type of ballot fraud.
All voters should push for enforcement to stop this illegal practice.
As Americans we should be ashamed that this illicit and unscrupulous practice is permitted to occur under the eyes and ears of our State Attorney and the director of the Miami Dade Police Department. More shameful still is knowing that County Commissioner Esteban Bovo permitted the illicit practice to occur in 2012 in his county office and he continues to operate as a county commissioner with dreams of becoming Commission Chair as we learned recently on this blog.
It is high time for law enforcement officials in this county to stop playing politics and to do the job they are paid to do. Enough corruption already.
Genius,
You state that "the scheme begins with the $3 million in campaign and PAC contributions that Gimenez has amassed from lobbyists, consultants, contractors and politicalgadflys."
At the risk of being accused of being a Gimenez toddy for asking this question, but where exactly in the press release, or in any other information is here any mention or evidence of that?
Absentee Ballot Fraud is one of the many major crimes that Katherine Fernandez-Rundle is guilty of crimes that she has been guilty of protecting during her years in office, and I know that you are an ardent supporter of Raquel Regalado, but I would be very interested in seeing some sort of documentation that supports this claim - even if it's only payments made to any of the Absentee Ballot Brokers from Gimenez's campaign or PAC funds.
Thanks,

Only in this county is it up for private investigators and citizens alike to uncover and even investigate crimes. Looks like every one of those senior citizen centers are simple waterholes intended only to influence political favor and steal absentee ballots. These politicians are nothing but wolves in sheep's clothing.
A sickening display of the status quo. Rigged elections, cases dropped mid-investigation with misdemeanor pleas accepted and all the while millions of dollars are being utilized by the electeds including judges to give to donors or limit their liability. The circle of corruption is complete.
WTF when will it stop? How can it stop? It's too big to stop.
Why has Marica Del Rey been campaigning so aggressively? What is her agenda??????
How come this story hasn't been mentioned by Eye on Miami?
https://medium.com/@skelaney/conversations-are-abuzz-about-corruption-in-politics-67a000e35fc9#.16ejxacoi
More specifically, this part of the story:
"Del Rey and Regalado Campaigns Funded by Sex Hotel Money
Public records also show that Marcia Del Rey’s judicial campaign and Raquel Regalado’s mayoral campaign have been directly funded by each of approximately half dozen sex-hotel holding companies owned by the Del Rey family with a significant $25,000 going to Regalado’s campaign from the Executive Fantasy Hotels."
Sex hotels? Those are legal entities that don't do business as county vendors. Unlike construction companies whose owners are relatives of Mayor Gimenez, those "pay to play" contributors are unethical and buy influence.
I wonder if Michael Putney or any other local media stooge has bothered to inquire why this investigation was refused by the State Attorney's Office. Whoever is in charge of the corruption fighting department at that office should be fired immediately.
The Feds should look into it
Al Lorenzo at his games again! We need to make a citizen arrest against Gimenez, because we CANNOT depend on the State Attorneys office. Bring in someone from out of the state. Otherwise this garbage will continue and we will stay stuck with people like Gimenez, Bovo and their band of merry friends.
Jorge Luis Lopez, Ralph Garcia-Toledo, Al Lorenzo, ROdeney Barreto, Brian May, Marcello Llorente, Jessee Manzano, and Brian Goldmier, along with Carlos Gimenez junior should share a cell block. Oh yeah, let's not leave Freddy Balsera behind! Jail them all
I agree with the previous writer. But, KFR needs to be in there with the.
Jose Luis Castillo also the campaign manager for mayor Peggy Bell, Cutler Bay and Susie Loyzelle. While their campaign manager, he was also a lobbyist for items before the council. He was a fund raiser for them and needed their vote. Just rotten politicians. V/M Dubois and council member Karen Cunningham, Palmetto Bay, same slime ball Castillo. Why doesn't the SAO DO something?
How about Regalado committing Homestead Exemption fraud? Now there's definitely proof of that. Check Crespos blog.
Has anyone checked to see how much money is being funneled from Gimenez pac to accompany in Pembroke Pines?????? It's no business, it's a residence and guess who's involved ???? Crazy Joe Carrollo, not to be confused with the investigator who exposed this story. Yes, Carrollo formerly from the city of Miami, whose brother currently serves as a city of Miami commissioner
After Carrie Meek went on the stump for Gimenez in his first election, her daughter, Lucia Davis-Raiford, was appointed to head the Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services Department. Can you say corruption?
Al Lorenzo is not on the Gimenez campaign team.
To answer all your questions, i am too busy with personal problems to care about them.
If “The Donald’ wants to see rigged elections have him come to Miami Dade County and talk to his golfing buddy the County Mayor...! it’s bipartisan absentee ballot rigging taken to an art form.
Gimenez..Rundle..judges.. now that is rigged..who do you call Ghost Busters? The Herald ignores it..(hey they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them either)..law enforcement that used to enforce this was disbanded by ..guess who? The biggest Perpetrators..Gimenez and members of the County Commission like Bovo who looked the other way as they or their “staff” were carrying out this accepted practice in Miami Dade Elections..….Add Millions more in campaign funds from the lobbyists..vendors and developers.. you have the definition of a Rigged Election.. Problem is nobody seems to care and it has become the norm for how elections are conducted here in Miami Dade..
The only way to counter this manipulation is to vote. Make sure everyone in your family votes. Remind all your friends to vote. Don't let these scum take control. Anyone who allows cynicism to overwhelm your rights as a citizen, anyone who does not vote, is only enabling these bastards. Vote for the best candidates and make a difference?
