You will have a chance in November to cast your vote against federal and state elected officials who refuse to allocate funds -- which are available -- to purchase sugar lands south of Lake Okeechobee, adequate to the purpose of cleaning water for the Everglades and to mitigate the extreme damage being done by harmful releases to the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie rivers. The names of office holders who are blocking the way: Gov. Rick Scott, Agriculture Secretary Adam Putnam and state representative Matt Caldwell. They are stealing your future.
