Redistricting Created a Clusterfuck for the Democratic Party in Miami Dade County. by Geniusofdespair

The Democratic party in the Miami Dade County State Senate races is one big, gigantic, colossal mess: a  Clusterfuck of epic proportions.

The Democrat that votes with the Republican's (is anti-choice and so ethically challenged I am surprised she is not in jail) Daphne Campbell will probably win. So that is a lost seat. She might as well run as a Republican. It all started when Gwen Margolis ran another term. Other qualified Democrats stayed out of the District 38 race in deference to Gwen. A guy named Jason Pizzo jumped in not aware or not caring about what had transpired in that race -- the respect for the incumbent. What do you expect from a Newbie. Now with the entrance of Kevin Burns, the race in District 38 is all but Daphne's. Either Pizzo or Burns needs to drop out. Talk to each other.

District 38 is Whites : 68,221, Blacks: 72,027, Hispanics: 70,415 but that is all registered voters. Traditionally 50% of the super-voters are Black but that doesn't mean just Haitian.  A strong African American - Real Democrat not a poser like Daphne - could still jump in and win. No one in their right mind would vote for Daphne if they knew about her. They would all vote for Phillip Brutus, the real Haitian Democrat in the race. Then life would be good.

Oscar Braynon will win as no one is running against him -- the rest will most probably go down in flames. Even the best candidate in Miami Dade County: Jose Javier Rodriguez -- will have his work cut out for him with the now "magically" moderate Miguel Diaz De La Portilla.  Dwight Bullard's district has changed dramatically and he is not the best fundraiser. Dwight get on the phone and ask for money. TODAY! His seat is in trouble. Even Democrat Ana Rivas Logan jumped in to unseat the longtime Bullard franchise in State Government.

The party has no direction. They are even going to leave Antiere unopposed - I am told - in a Democratic leaning district because of some reasons I can't talk about like rumors of an affair. Don't really believe that. I am hearing that Andrew Korge is going to exit that race soon. Don't know what he is doing as he hasn't answered my calls and has yet to listen to anything I have told him.

Mostly I see a bunch of candidates that will just not listen. They think they have all the answers. Well, good. Go on your stupid merry way and...lose. Get a fucking campaign manager all of you.

As a Republican, I am appalled at how stupid this OTHER party is, when they SHOULD be a shoe-in at the general election. No one much is raising money. It is just in tattered ruins here. They are going to lose in the primary, because they are using no strategy whatsoever. Someone from the National Party: Get down to Miami and help.

I am pretty sure qualifying is closed Noon, June 24th so it will most probably be the worst Senate contest in history for the Democrats here in Miami. I am praying there is a miracle in the next 3 1/2 days.  Unless something horrible happens to Daphne Campbell, I will be represented by the worst Democrat ever. Yes I was happy when Scalia died. I am not above that. And I know I will have no Democratic friends after posting this blog. But Fuck it. Someone has to say it.

This is such a good post. I think you will have to stay a Republican after this one. I couldn't agree more on the Antiere Flores and Bullard races. Not as familiar with 38.

Ana Rivas Logan is a republican in Democratic clothing. She has an A rating from the NRA, and has made anti-choice, anti-equality, and anti- public school votes as a republican in Tallahassee from 2010-2012. She is a fraud.

Dwight Bullard is a nice guy who should be running in the Margolis seat which is majority black in the primary. With that said, he hasn't accomplished anything legislatively in 8 years in Tallahassee, and should probably find something else to do. Plus, he took two trips to Europe while everyone else is working hard campaigning and raising money. WTF.

If they can't get past the primary because they are running against each other, they will never win.

This is all oscar braynons fault. He is too busy selling out to the special interests and republicans when instead he should be trying to win democratic seats. Remember, he is the one who represented a for profit unaccredited college in violation of the state constitution. Thankfully, the Florida Alliance made sure we knew about his corruption. Braynon is for sale - he should resign.

Dwight should run against Oscar. Can anyone tell me anything of substance that Oscar has ever done in Tallahassee? Being "bipartisan" with Anitere Flores doesn't count.

Dwight is a favorite of local party insiders. He would probably lose against the evil, dim-witted Artilles in the general. So it's our choice, Democrats: Hold our nose and go with the former right-leaning, sometimes annoying Ana Rivas-Logan and win in November, or stick with Dwight and lose in November.

It's not a done deal that Korge Jr. will change seats. Michael Gongora is a strong possible candidate in that seat. Gongora would be much stronger than Jr, and have more money, too. Jr. might decide Anitere is an easier mountain to climb.

I disagree that it's a done deal that Whacky Daphne is a shoo-in to win. There are two other credible Haitian-American candidates in that race. We also can't assume African-Americans will overwhelmingly vote for a Haitian-American. And vice versa. Not yet in Miami's life cycle.

I hear Korge is moving to take on Rivas Logan and Dwight, which makes the most sense because Korge is the strongest candidate against Artilles. If that is true, Republican Rivas logan should run against Flores - that is the best matchup.

You cannot blame any of the candidates who are incumbents for not getting anything passed. They are the minority party in Tallahassee by a wide Margin. The Republicans control the show.

A democrat needs to jump in on district 36 asap. No one is running against Rene Garcia, he has won each election by default.

Genius - some democrats like Jose Javier, Katie Edwards, Jared Moskowitz get things done, and they are in house for crying out loud. Many Senators get things done, too.

We absolutely can blame dwight for not getting anything done! He has 0 legislative accomplishments in Tallahassee over the past 8 years, plus he said publicly that Israel is an apartheid state. WTF!

Have you seen Bullard's list of fines from the State Elections and Ethics boards? He acts like David Rivera from the other side.

Sorry, enough about Bullard. Read the whole post not a line or two and respond with a helpful comment. How can they fix this? I already did the blame game -- don't need ditto heads.

If you think things are bad now, wait until the FBI makes a criminal referral on Hillary. The shit is really going to hit the fan. I love Bernie, but he is not going to win and it's going to hurt other Democrats at every level.

Thanks Donald. BTW why does everyone call him Mr. Trump in his campaign? Really.

To all you anon trolls (yes, even you Hop Scotch)!

The Democratic Party (neither local or state) didn't put Rivas-Logan in Bullard's race..... ask the unions who put her in District 40.

Why should Sen. Bullard leave his home to stay in office, he represents his community?

What has Senator Braynon done in Tallahassee? anybody who ask that doesn't follow legislation if you don't know what's he's done in a Republican-dominated Senate. Ask Jackson Hospital & Miami Dade Public Health Dept about their HIV/AIDS research, ask the municipal governments in North Dade and South Broward that get infrastructure money from Tallahassee. Please tell me what have other Democrats (or Dade Republicans) have done in the house or the senate of note?

And what the H%^& is Hillary/Bernie go to do with Florida Senate. I am tired of so-called "Democrats" who don't donate, don't volunteer and don't put any skin in the game trying to say what should happen.....

There are still unaccountable wannabes in the Democratic Party that feel that they can play like Donald Trump and say anything because they got money.... its "Republican-attitudes" that screw the party of the people

The people who say "Mr. Trump" are looking for a job, or some kind of favor from him. If he gets elected, he will use all his powers to destroy his enemies, and anyone who disagrees with him. So you bow or pay the price.

The florida democratic party absolutely put rivas logan in that race. Even the herald reported it.

Oscar Braynon, Christian Ulvert, Allison Tant, Sarah Smith manzano, and other party hacks recruited her to run because Bullard wasn't working hard. They are helping her raise money. These are facts.

I hope a true leader, a true democrat steps in that race and prevents the party from supporting another republican turned democrat.

The presidential race has a lot to do with the Florida State races. Whichever party at the top of the ticket wins will bring the others with them to victory.
