State Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla and FPL: he gets paid, you get poisoned ... by gimleteye

It has now been two weeks since a Miami-Dade County study found that FPL's Turkey Point power plant is leaking radiation into Biscayne Bay. The Bay's aquifer provides drinking water to more than three million people in South Florida.
It is tempting to say these health and safety concerns for residents from Boca Raton to the Keys are new. They are not. For many years, FPL has stonewalled county and state regulators on the extent of its problems at Turkey Point related to its nuclear cooling system. The regional corporate powerhouse needed lobbyists and legislators to get its way. In the past Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, FPL found a twofer (two for one).

In 2012 Miami New Times gave Miguel Diaz de la Portilla the dubious distinction of best lobbyist: "When his clients can't get their way at the county level, they can count on Diaz de la Portilla to use his influence in Tallahassee to fulfill their agendas there."

State Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla has actively worked on FPL's behalf. No wonder he has been silent on this pollution issue.

How much has Miguel Diaz de la Portilla earned from FPL while an elected official?

Did Miguel Diaz de la Portilla ever work with or for or represent a political action committee funded by FPL that worked against municipal officials who opposed FPL?

Why has Diaz de la Portilla not spoken out on the Turkey Point toxic pollution issue?

Will Diaz de la Portilla hold FPL accountable for the contamination of Biscayne Bay?

Is FPL paying for Diaz de la Portilla's silence?

It is well past time for State Sen. Miguel Diaz de la Portilla to answer these questions that directly impact the citizens of his district and beyond.

What is the article's connection with the photo above?

It is the Rubio connection. Can't you see?

Great question. That's because the article is just a simple hit piece that absolute fiction. The picture is the icing on the cake just to make sure that everyone disregards all of the gun bills MDP killed in the Senate, defying leadership and former President Gaetz, the gun bills that actually passed the House (thanks Jose Javier Rodriguez) and would have undoubtedly passed the Senate. MDP killed these last year too. Let's not blog about that. Let's just put up a big picture of MDP with Marco Rubio so that people label him a regular republican, not the moderate one he actually is.

You have to be very careful about who you take pictures with.

Rubio's political career is finished. So too MDP. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? The game is up!

Diaz de la Portilla was a moderate before he decided to be a radical. He was a radical until Fair Districts made him decide to be a moderate. Makes sense he's a flip flopper, except for his client list ... $$$$ LOL.

Miguel, worried about "hit pieces"? What did he and the PAC do to Cindy Lerner?

What, MDP stopped up the carry bill and saved Florida from being the laughing stock of the nation? Amigo, that took courage. Cojones!

Yep. And it passed the house! Great going. By the way, he killed it last year before the Fair Districts.
