Homestead Mayor Had His Jaguar Stolen. By Geniusofdespair

On June 11th Mayor Jeff Porter has his 4D Jaguar stolen. He estimates the car was worth $25,000.  It appears he got it back as the case was suspended. I guess he can't claim crime fighting in his reelection campaign.

Is he suitable to be Mayor? I think so, especially when there is talk of (Ousted twice) Lynda Bell running again. Let's face it, this is Homestead we are talking about, the hotbed of old Florida's Good Old Boys.

It's Homestead so here is a possible theory: several police officers have been hired and others were sworn in as a new officers last week in Homestead. Police officers cost a lot of money. Needing a lot of money leads to tax increases. It is an election year. Just needs to convince his peeps out in the villages that crime is bad and therefore we must raise more money to hire more cops. It's the syndrome of look at me I am Mr. crime fighter and I know firsthand how bad things are in Homestead. Or, maybe his wife just needed the attention in an election year.

Suitable for Mayor? Have you ever listened to Jeff speak? He is a dope. Everyone knows that the city manager, Gretsas, runs Homestead. Without Gretsas and the team he put together the Mayor and Council would all look like dopes (with the exception of Faircloth, Williams and Sell-out-Shelley - can't forget his last minute effort to save Judy and petition). Maybe I'm a dope but I'm a bit confused by your first paragraph "...It appears he got it back as the case was suspended. I guess he can't claim crime fighting in his reelection campaign." What exactly do you mean?

We hear that Wendy Lobos might run for Judy's seat too.

Wayne is feeling out the council members trying to get support for Mr. Waldman. I wonder why the Waldman's want to stay on the council so badly..what perks have they been getting all these years??? Besides what Judy claims "it's the health insurance).

Conversations in Hudstead now center on the relationships between Waldman, Porter, Shelly and city attorney Weiss regarding the ballot disaster. What is Waldman holding over Wayne Rosen and Pinky Munz? Has Waldman ordered her elderly chauffeur to run for her council seat? Why were Porter and Shelly willing to cut a deal to get that petition on the ballot by the qualifying date? What is Waldman holding over them? Porter and Shelly seem clean cut forget it they showed their true colors along with city attorney who was forgetful in not citing any case law during his "advice to council." Can you say unprepared? It's always good when the truth gets out the biased lawyers were exposed. Voters can decide who is worthy of being mayor. Porter and Shelly are not suitable for council as mayor and vicemayor their performance gets a fail grade.

Wow!!! Anonymous above ^^^^^ You hit the nail on the head!! I am soooo disappointed with Shelley. The question that is on everyone's mind: what benefits (besides "health care") are Judy not willing to give up??? Remember, Mark Goodrich helped Porter with his campaign. Porter has never been clean cut; look up his past relationships, especially with Shiver and his business dealings with FPL...
