A Note to Audrey Edmonson: Who Put the Blacktop on your Park, Parcel B? By Geniusofdespair

Commissioner Audrey Edmonson: Since it is your District, who gave the Miami Heat permission to pave over Parcel B.  (see Michael Lewis editorial and my previous blog on this parcel).

Blacktop is new -- Parcel B NOW!!!! The only part not blacktopped is where they want to put the Cuban Museum.  Now it is a parking lot on the waterfront.

Museum Row is America's Skid Row of Urban Planning. What is wrong with Miami?

This is soooo disgusting!!!!!!!

I suppose we are lucky that they did not accidentally fill-in the slip while they were busy paving.

Weren't those palm trees planted with county funds? Was a permit issued to destroy and remove them?

Are you sure its the Urban planners fault? Or is the political egos and the political paybacks doing city planning?

At least they didn't use permeable pavers. The oil can run straight into the bay.

Audrey Edmonson is completely responsible. Edmonson made the Motion to allow the promoters of the failed Formula E race cover grass and trees with asphalt. Edmonson has been aggressively defending the criminals who dumped all the asphalt on what should be a world class park. Edmonson obviously doesn't give a crap about County or Downtown residents.

This is another example of our county government's inability to represent the taxpayers. This land is zoned parkland, it was promised as a public park in the countywide vote to allow the Heat to build the arena. Paving over public parkland and charging the Heat chump change is an insult to the public. The voters are screwed as usual and the billionaires reap the profits.

No problem. Just slap some Astro turf over it and call it a "flex park." Got same thing planned for Virginia Key's waterfront parkland.

Edmonson sure is a disappointment. Someone should tell her she has constituents who live Downtown.
