Saturdays don't count at the Miami Herald. By Geniusofdespair

Make sure you do not have any opinions in Miami on Saturday. The Herald has done away with the Editorial Page. The good news is we won't have to listen to them pushing Marco and Jeb on Saturday. I guess I will have to pitch in.  Here is my Editorial Page: Marco Rubio sucks and Jeb Bush is downright dangerous. Small farmers are exploited and Moss is being an ass about the theme park he wants on sensitive land.  Architect Bernard Zyscovich is being a whore about it, talking it up at a Commission meeting because he wants to design it. Marc Sarnoff is at odds with Steve Kneapler over his support of Grace Solares. Marc is being a bad sport I think.  Raquel Regalado did a poll against Carlos Gimenez and won by a large margin especially in the "speaks Spanish better" question. She also got 98% on  "better facial expressions". I guess that covers it.... Eye on Miami's Saturday Editorial Page. I hope I don't have to do Sunday too.

I also heard they are getting rid of technology. Here is my wrap up on that: the IPhone 6+ falls out of your pocket and is too heavy.

Gimenez has committed the following. Even a three legged dog would poll better than him:

1- his 2012 campaign committed absentee ballot fraud.
2- he brought us the likes of Jorge Luis Lopes and Rafael Garcia Toledo.
3-he tried to stiff us with the Dolphin stadium costs.
4- he tried to push a soccer stadium on public land on the bay.
5- he failed to collect taxes on the Miami Arena for years.
6- every major construction job in the county is awarded to MCM Construction- one of his biggest contributors.
7- he attempted to close libraries and fire cops.
8- he has destroyed county government.
(feel free to add the hundreds of misdeeds committed by Gimenez)

Miami-Dade is coming late to the party because at its northern border in Hallendale, the Gulfstream Park "village" of upscale restaurants, shopping and casino is building a huge water theme park within their huge parking lot.

So the one planned (for ages) on endangered land at the Zoo is going to compete with this? It will also compete with the one built at Grapeland Heights.

Our County Mayor earned a bachelor of public administration degree from Barry University, and then a certificate for a Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1993.

This certificate, giving him the claim of Ivy League Harvard status, is a two week course.

Last Monday, the streets of Miami-Dade were overwhelmed by motorcyclists causing chaos. They were from out of town, they were in large numbers, they broke traffic laws.

During this episode, I saw local and national news coverage.

What I didn't see, was County Mayor Carlos Gimenez addressing a serious issue, even just to state that plans for curbing this type of activity will be a priority.

He was a no-show.

The EYEONMIAMI Saturday editorial pages should focus on the Mayor and his favorite lobbyists. The word on the street is that the Mayor tells companies who to hire. The companies feel obligated to pay the outrageous fees, out of fear the Mayor's lobbyists will kill their contracting opportunities if the payments stop. Connect the dots to the Beacon Council - the Public-Private Referral Agency for lobbyists, lawyers and consultants. What a racket.
