Sierra Club Endorses County Commission District 8 Candidate Daniella Levine Cava. By Geniusofdespair

Sierra Club Endorses County Commission District 8 Candidate Daniella Levine Cava.

Daniella remarked: "It is a special honor to earn the Sierra Club’s endorsement. This organization has been at the forefront of environmental advocacy for over a century. As District 8 County Commissioner, I will fight to protect Miami-Dade’s natural environment and work to make sure that the County serves as a good steward of our natural resources”.

Regarding their endorsement of Daniella, Naomi Papirno of the Sierra Club said: “We were all very impressed with Daniella's knowledge and commitment to those important environmental issues which directly affect us here in Dade County. We know that Daniella Levine Cava will advocate for the environment and be a commissioner who will make us proud.”

The Sierra Club, one of the nations most respected and largest environmental groups, is the latest in a long list of organizations to endorse Ms. Levine Cava.

I would have been fearful of the rapture had the endorsement gone the other way.

I personally experienced racism from the Sierra Club. I went to do a scheduled and requested water conservation presentation and I was treated very rudely. I was told that if I and others like me had stayed in Cuba, we wouldn't have half of the environmental and conservation problems we do now. I have been in the US for 53 year and a citizen since the age of 18. No one ever apologized for the insult.

I hope the Sierra Club people travel to District 8 and meet voters. Money is helpful but bodies might be better?

Yes, they need to get signs for members in the district, help walk the district, and get their assignments for election day, early voting, and absentee voting.

To not waste valuable time, they need walk lists from Elections. I am sure they found out at the shopping centers that most people there are not registered voters. Many houses have no registered voters in them, so there is no sense in knocking on their doors. Walk lists helps in targeting people who count. The rest don't count. The shopping centers are good places to give out voter registration info.
