More on the historic FEC SLIP. Gregory Bush Speaks Out on Helen Ferre Show. By Geniusofdespair

Slide from Channel 6 News - Shows how much interlopers know. See yesterday's picture of the day with 3 dolphins swimming in the FEC slip.  It is not polluted and it is not a man-made mega yacht marina. It is what is left of our port and it was a submarine training center during World War 2. It is not a mega yacht marina. The only yacht that docks there regularly is owned by billionaire Micky Arrison owner of the Miami Heat. Biscayne Bay came up to Biscayne Blvd. You are looking at fill around the slip the FEC Slip is not a dug basin. It was dredged for the port but it is the original bay not man-made.

Gregory Bush on Helen Ferre Show:

"There are many who have been vocal about their reservations to a water front location for the proposed soccer stadium.  Greg Bush from the Urban Environment League joins us to discuss why he and his group so strongly oppose what they call a “hastily drawn plan”."

Issues: Pt. 1 Opposition to Soccer Stadium Plan

Are you sure this entire park doesn't contain enough toxic material from WWII that the entire park and structures need to closed down?

EE&G "EE&G identified the presence of petroleum-affected soil and groundwater on the northern portion of the property, area-wide arsenic-affected surficial soils, and the presence of two improperly-abandoned USTs on the western boundary. EE&G permitted and properly removed the USTs in 2003, and completed a Tank Closure Assessment Report. Recommendations included expanded site assessment and proper management of the affected media coinciding with the proposed redevelopment plan. Additionally, EE&G recommended that this property be officially designated as a Brownfields Site in order to take advantage of the available financial (tax credits) and regulatory (RBCA closure) incentives.

EE&G has continues to provide environmental consulting services to the Miami Science and Art museums currently under development at the site as well as the contractors conducting the work at the site."

The FEC slip is part of the original Biscayne Bay, it is not man made. The slip is the original Port of Miami and has been dredged to accommodate commercial vessels when it was the port. As to being polluted, it no more polluted than the current Port and the Intracoastal Waterway running just east of the slip.
The spin and incorrect statements from Beckham United show a group with no understanding of the facts and will say or do anything to promote their stadium.

The first comment has only to do with the upland area north of the slip, the park itself passed all necessary environment testing to be safe and opened to the public as a city park.

Greg Bush did an excellent job outlining many of the reasons a stadium should go west of Biscayne Blvd.

Let's be clear. The slip sit is yet another great opportunity for carlos Gimenez' family and friends to get rich and the money will come from taxpayers pockets. One thing one has to do for sure is give Gimenez some credit:his family is being enriched because of his shenanigans and is bold about it

I was born in New York. To hear a New Yorker call this slip a "gutter" was offensive. Takes one to know one. He has some nerve.
