Daniella Levine Cava Posts Mega-Bucks on Her Campaign Report for County Commissioner District 8. By Geniusofdespair

District 8 Challenger, to Lynda Bell, Daniella Levine Cava posted $138,957 in one month on her campaign report. That is unheard of.  She collected from 590 donors. If you include the in-kind contributions it is $144,339.

That is more than Pepe Diaz, and Rebeca Sosa have raised, both incumbents.  Lynda Bell with the help of Mayor Carlos Gimenez and a host of lobbyists has raised $183,325 in eleven months from 424 donors. I guess she will have to hit them up again. Maybe they won't be so sure she will win now, not with Daniella's fundraising power.  When a grassroots candidate is this strong with fundraising skills, they are hard to beat.

This is a real challenge, Daniella is a serious contender. If you didn't think so before, you had better change your thinking.

Remember Jean Monestime had $106,775 to Dorrin Rolle's $388,408 and Monestime won. Mark Bell, Lynda Bell's husband, had  more than $100,000 when he ran for Mayor and Porter had less than half the money and he won with 55.51%.
Levine Cava Family
To add to it, Vice Lynda Bell filed a notice on 1/29 that she would not be expecting any funds in January. Oops, apparently that is incorrect, Lynda Bell raised $21,050 in January and spent $21,953.75.  I guess that is no funds. She collected less than she paid out. She is paying most of it to that campaign manager of hers Jose Luis Castillo. Most of the money On Lynda Bell's report was from businesses (9 $500 donations from Juan Munilla Companies) as opposed to Daniella Levine Cava's from individuals. It is very hard to raise money against an incumbent because they retaliate against the givers if they win and everyone figures they will win. That is why the fundraising success is such a major accomplishment for Daniella.  People think she is going to win.

I have never given money to a candidate before Daniella. That's how important I feel about this race and her integrity. Carlos Gimenez has lost the ability to convince anyone paying attention that he is a leader. Ridding the Commission of his shrew supporter from District 8, is the first positive step.

We now see why Edie jumped ship. Who is sounding out the words in this blog to Honey Boo Boo Bell now?

Congratulations Daniella. I noticed most of your money was from individuals. You Rock!

I am hoping that her win will bring positive results in the municipalities she will serve. Looking across the district it seems that a "mafia" like effect is running the governments. All beholden to the Commissioner for power and etc.

Good luck Daniella. You are a breath of fresh air that is much needed.

It's really been a bad week for Carlos, Rivera beat him like a drum, his swing vote on the BCC is clearly headed for greener pastures, then his new super star BFF's wife basically blew the whole "investing in the community" right out of the bayside (nice place to visit but I wouldn't live there on a $50 million dollar bet)

Now he has to face Cava's real and he's going to have to flush whatever capital he has left on Bell.

Commissioner Cava or Commissioner Levine Cava? I don't care which one as long as it's not Lynda Bell.

Thank you! Thank you!

I can finally breath a breath of fresh air today. One by one we will take our County Commission back.

Bell just reported $21,000 raised and spent $22,000 for the month of January. Most of it on "Research".

My contribution wasn't much, but it was on the installment plan. Daniella will have what I can afford every reporting period, and my feet on the ground for walking. South Dade deserves better representation. We are an important community, and an asset to the county.

She is going to win, I just know it. Such good news. Good bye Lynda.

thank you to all for the comments the important issue is that she is going to win and lynda can go to working her red light ditrict hotel, or building fences, or whatever it is that she does

Time for Lynda to go back out into the Everglades and have some photos taken with endangered species.

Dubois better get his check book out along with the entire membership of the CFC! He may also want to settle his DERM issues now too.

I wonder what Pena and the 8 1/2 sq mile people are going to do along with Humble and the build it without a permit gang? Maybe we'll get enforcement out there so animals will no longer be slaughtered out of sight.

Bell cannot go fast enough. She is a true train wreck beyond anything this County has seen. She makes the Dim One look smart and Souto look like Einstein.

Daniella is off to a great start, but it's far from over. If you have not yet donated, or are under the limit and can afford to donate more, do so now. This should be interesting.

Lookout for Jose Luis Castillo. He is Linda Bell's campaign manager and a master at collecting fraudulent absentee ballots. This is the same character who helped Carlos Gimenez's Hialeah electoral fraud machine and will now do the same thing in South Dade.

RE: Luis

He has already been doing it for years in south Dade. He brought Hialeah-style politics to Palmetto Bay with the last campaign. People knocking on doors asking for your AB. Cutting deals with the nursing homes and senior citizen facilities.

Yup. He has already made his mark on south Dade. Doesn't make me feel any better about politics--- sorta like having the neighbors tom cat piss on you.

Can't wait for Lynda to cut the ribbon on the senior center by the government center. If it is district 8, with her moms name plastered all over it, she will have guaranteed access to the ab's.

Mark Bell's campaign proved Lynda Bell is not as strong as she thinks she is. We all know Castillo will not play clean. Thankfully Daniella doesn't seem like a career politician which this county is sick of. If Monestine can unwrench Rolle, she can certainly pay it forward against Bell. I have confidence she can beat Bell no matter how many Bell supporters blog the opposite.

"Can't wait for Lynda to cut the ribbon on the senior center by the government center."

I can't wait for Daniella to remove the naming of that facility to Miami Dade or Cutler Bay where it is located. Any trace of Bell needs to go.

The lobbyists are going to double down.
