It was a good interview. Given the direction of the GOP, I think many Republicans are beginning to rethink if they want to be linked with the party of NO. Given their inability to think, it may be decades before they get the Whitehouse again. Now more than ever, we need leaders who can push this economy, inspire us to excellence, who are willing to listen to voters, make compromises, and keep things going.

Soon he needs to move into his vision for the state. They questioned him on national issues, but the issues of concern to us for him are state issues. He needs to talk about Medicaid expansion for millions of Floridians; transit money for central FL; money for education; getting our own ACA operation in place; cleaning up our election operation; his vision for education pre-K through graduate school; environmental visions; economic development, jobs, and many other issues. The bottomline is we have got to get things moving in the state we as can't continue to stand still with foolishness.

You could be right, he may lead a whole group of moderate Republicans out of the party. It is clear that a lot of their leaders are crazy, but there are many rank and file members who are not. First they will become Independents like he did, and eventually they will become Democrats.

No one wants to go back to the failed policies of the past. Obama is moving us forward and Clinton will pick up when he leaves. An initiative that must be put on the table is something for young people. They have to get out of their parents home and into careers, and they need to understand what it means to be an American. We cannot continue to have the best of what we have doing nothing. Some kind of mandatory service to the country for everyone 18-25 years of age will do it. Either community service, military service, or service in foreign countries. They can do it before or after college. They have to get on with their lives and begin to take their place in the world.

Crist should stay away from issues he has no jurisdiction over as governor. The Miami Herald is reporting his new position on the Cuban embargo. Foreign affairs of the US government is outside the jurisdiction of the governor and as such he would have no control over a US embargo. The people of interest for foreign affairs is the President, members of the US House of Representatives, and the US Senate.

While it is unclear what Nan Rich's playbook calls for, she needs to be running a high visibility attack campaign against Scott. Each time he does something silly, she needs to be somewhere in the state attacking him. Beyond that, she needs to speak mainly on our future as a state and where she would like to take us. She needs to stay away from the "I am the only democrat in the race" line as it is not productive for her nor Crist. One way to look at it is we have two people to beat up on Scott, and he has provided plenty of material to work with. And that is our prime directive to get him out of office. Whoever wins the nomination, she is going to have to work very hard in the end to take Scott of office.
