Eddie Borrego Didn't Jump Lynda Bell's Ship for $10,000. By Geniusofdespair

County Commissioner Lynda Bell's Chief of Staff didn't jump ship during her campaign for the $10,000 a year increase in salary. And as the Herald pointed out, there are more perks at the County than at Jackson. Eddie could have easily got that $10,000 out of Lynda. Something else was brewing -- maybe a poll.  Maybe he refused to put a fence around the front of his property. Maybe he got sick of the mandatory praying during lunch. Maybe he wants to be in Tallahassee to suck up to Governor Scott.

I think it was a power struggle with Eddie and Lynda's Campaign Manager Jose Luis Castillo, two very bossy guys intent on telling Lynda what to do...wrong. One of them had to go.

I think it was the noon time prayer before lunch! Maybe he needs additional free surgery since his stomache staple?

Castillo is such a clown. I cannot believe this guy who used to be a henchman for Juan Mayol is now a campaign guru! He's a bully and not a very bright one. He is probably as good as Steve Marin is when it comes to billing candidates which is why Bell has to raise to much money to pay him!

It is sad that we still have to pay Eddie because prior to Bell he was an absolute enigma locally who still cannot find his way around District 8, let alone anywhere in the County.

This new position which has been carved out was probably not advertised because in Miami Dade, only insiders get those 100K plus jobs.

In the Herald, in the same section this article was in Jordan was complaining about full disclosure of the cost of the Jackson Bond and the School Board Bond saying the BCC should use the word "tax" in describing how they should appear on the ballot because people wouldn't support them - well, duh!

Another day of corruption in Miami Dade. One day, maybe in my lifetime, we'll have enough commissioners & their "staff" in jail to hold a BCC or local City of Hialeah/Miami meeting.

Correction, Jordan said it "shouldn't" appear! Bovo was the one who said it should. One typo changed what I meant to write! Bovo was right, Jordan was wrong. It was just above the Eddie piece in the paper today.

The reason is simple. County commission employees are often short-termers. Employees in the general county bureaucracy and at JMH have a better opportunity to work there for 30 years and get a full pension. The move is doubly sweet if they can get civil service protection, something they don't get as commission staffers.

Didn't Bell hire Jose Luis Castillo's wife, or did he merely assign his wife to her office in order to babysit Bell and change her diapers.

Jackson Hospital's Carlos Mogoya is spending the taxpayers $830 Mil as fast as he can. Whatever happened to investing in infrastructure? More money and benefits to connected insiders?

As for "Eddie" he's an opportunist at best and a parasite at Worst. He features himself as a political mastermind but he has no ethical foundation .. He will lie .. manipulating the truth to fit his own agenda . My opinion of Carlos Migoya has lessened by this hire at Jackson. Fast Eddie will hopefully implode there ... And move on to screw up in another community in a universe far far away.

Maybe Bell could hire another Homestead reject, Steve Shiver. He's hunting around City Hall and the Council people with his hat in hand looking for more $$$$ from the taxpayers! It will make it a full circle for him back into County Hall where it just cannot get any sleazier then it is now!

When political hires abandon the office within days of a serious opponent entering the race, politicos take notice. Fleeing at the first sign of difficulty shows absolutely no character. A political appointee has to have the integrity to stay with the office, even when the ship is going down. Loyalty counts in the world of politics. Borrego has shown himself to be untrustworthy, self-centered, disloyal, and unreliable. His career in politics is over.

Is it really disloyalty or did Mr. Borrego simply prefer to take a job where he won't have to campaign for 6 months? It is tough for many of these staffers to both serve as staffers as well as campaign workers. Far too many commissioners see their staff as campaign workers first and policy or community service aides second.

Like the rat he is, bailing off a sinking ship.

Can you imagine working with, or even worse, that hypocritical, racist, ethically challenged Lynda Bell? she must place her employees in some uncomfortable situations. and, yes, it was a poll that out of four names polled, Bell scored last.

Borrego and Wolfe are just being typical public servants, they switch jobs to get more pay and benefits for doing less work.

Public servants my ass? Leeches sucking the system dry.

Castillo is an ass and a bully. Birds of a feather flock together...as the saying goes. He will go down in the same ship as Bell.

These hires and their lofty pay and benefits packages make Carlos Migoya look like a dolt.
