Do you think Bruno Barreiro can read?

NO, in answer to your question. He is very good at saying yes to the highest bidders and giving away our tax dollars probably memorizing the speeches fed to him by lobbyists.

None of these commissioners are holding a book of their own choosing, the books are chosen and handed to them by the library staff and there is an inside joke or two amongst the photos.

Commissioner Bell is an example. We all know that she could never get through Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. She would believe that this is a book of Greek mythology portraying a story of Atlas changing position while holding up the Earth. She would lose interest before the end of the first page.

The irony? How does commissioner Honey Boo Boo interpret: “Man has the power to act as his own destroyer--and that is the way he has acted through most of history.”

I was told that Bell chose the book.

Only because Bell mistakenly believes that she is holding the Tea Party Bible. She is not. See Counterpunch on Ayn Rand: the Tea Party’s Miscast Matriarch, www.counterpunch.org/2012/02/27/ayn-rand-the-tea-partys-miscast-matriarch/

Commissioner Barreriro is pro libraries.he would have resent the TRIM notices to rectrify the misguided vote in July. He's the one who suggested allowing the library to fully use it's own carryover (Mayor Ginenez planned to force the money to be spent over three years.). On the libary issue, I defend him for stepping up to save us. I also believe he will support MDPLS in 2014-15 when the Mayor will try for the third time to dismantle and destroy this county's libraries. Ask what's happening to Msin Library's eviction from the Main Library's basement and top floor. Despicable!
Those historic documents belong to the citizens!

I doubt Bruno Barrerio has any idea who Robert Moses was. The book Bruno is holding is about Robert Moses and his legacy in New York City. Many of Robert Moses's massive public works projects are now considered to be passé and in fact many are very harmful to a modern day city. Sort of the like the $3 Bil Marlins Scam that Bruno shoved through the BOC.

I bet Bruno Barrerio has never heard of Robert Moses.
