Lynda Bell is the target of the Recall. By Geniusofdespair

Talk about the seas parting for me, Lynda Bell was picked to be recalled. Where can I sign----actually I can't sign, don't live in the district but I can go to the district and get signatures.

The groups doing the recall may not be serious but I am. This better not be a publicity stunt I have my wallet out.

Part of Lynda Bell's Statement:

"Regrettably, this ill-conceived plot will only serve as a distraction for others to galvanize and try to remove an elected public official who has diligently worked towards the betterment of the community and has always put the people first. In the meantime, I will continue to serve the residents of my Commission district with the same level of excellence that they have come to expect and so richly deserve.”

This is great.

I have a nominee for her seat. Who's heading the committee?

Since Vanessa Brito is not connected with this in any way, it may have a chance to succeed.

Maybe we can get a "two-fer" if we can catch her legal lap dog Stephen Cody providing legal advice to her while on suspension from the Florida Bar. We can turn it into a permanent disbarment.

This is going to be a great New Year! Thanks for the Heston/Moses photo. It's perfect today.

The recall committee should be focusing on Dist. 8 voters. There are a bunch of rescue groups with the volunteers who can help "vet" no pun intended. There are also some great community groups who can help assist within the Dist. I would not be suggesting a "consultant" who doesn't live in Dist. 8 no matter who it is. It's a very purposely gerrymandered district with a lot of different interests. There will be nothing worse then a Pena vs Moss type of situation when it comes to Bell.

Lynda Bell some of us never expected excellence from you. Those citizens in District 8 who you sheepishly convince through AB voting you could be honest, and help District 8 finally saw the light. You are done and so is your husband. Move on now. This is truly a great day for us. Yes, we are going to take our county back from these politicians that think we are sleeping at the wheel.

Genius, Moses parting the Red Sea? That's a little too much don't you think? (smile)

Can we put a barf tag on Bell's response. The only people she serves are lobbyists (rock mining, sprawl and other environmental destruction) , DuBouis and the CFC. She does do an excellent job there for those people. The District 8 voters? She's kidding herself if she believe the statement someone obviously wrote for her. It's her time to look for work in the private sector and give our public, senior housing back to the people of the community, not her deceased mother as well along with the contractor from Broward!

Serious people?!?! These are folks that made a bid deal about picking a name out of a hat at random... Not the best way to decide who to go after...

To make matters even worse, before they "picked" the rabbit out of the hat, they distributed press packets to all media present. They must be clairvoyant because those packets centered around one particular Commissioner. Can you guess who??? That's right, Bell... I mean, forget the merits of the effort, starting it off that way is a real bad sign...

There's lotsa houses that need cleanin' in Dist 8.

Hello? Who cares whether who was chosen first for a recall was a set up. Doesn't the Herald reporter have a sense of humor? Geez, you'd think the reporter uncovered watergate2.

Hope the rest of the commissioners are thinking long and hard about their vote on Sept. 10. Funding essential services and maintaining public trust is essential to keeping themselves in office. When will they get that?

I am shocked that we are spending time in this foolish effort. Please spend your time and resources in making this a better community. Get over your hate and be a source of positive contributions to our community.

Patricia Mazzei wrote a piece about the whole deal being phony. Fred Frost of the AFL-CIO and lackey pet guy Rosenberg had a press release done the night before.
All names in the hat were Bells. Zapata and Bovo had not been in office for a year they could not be recalled. Souto, Sosa, Barreiro, Diaz and Suarez are in highly populated hispanic districts.
This whole deal was a fraud.

I have heard Rosenberg and Frost want to control the millions the pet trust ordinance would raise. You can't trust them to pick a name out of a hat but you can trust them to control millions?
JOKERS ON THE JOB

It's a beautiful day. Where do I send my check?

Have you heard? The official recall form doesn't require a real random drawing. The recall is real.

Where do I sign up? Bell is a cancer to Dist 8 along with her pal PB Vice Mayor DuBois.

I just read Lynda Bell's facebook page. Here's the funniest post to her statement.

This jerk is Mr. US Century/Lobbyist of Dolphins Stadium public funding and Urban Sprawl outside the UDB cheerleader, had this to say. What made this even funnier = Steve Shiver hit "like". You cannot pay for this type of stuff. They just walk in to it.

"Rodney Barreto: Commissioner Bell the Barreto Family stands with you. I know this is an emotional issue that got us here . Hopefully rational minds will prevail . We certainly admire all the hard work you do - not just district wide but county wide. Thank you for you public service. Stay strong."

Well, of course Mr. Barreto would stand by Bell, she's a yes vote for all that's wrong in this county including Barreto, Shiver and all who support her.

Lynda Bell has a problem. The Pet Trust is one problem. I recall her support of pink slime, Redland Hotel funding, naming a building after her mother, having a hostile work environment, trash dump in he Redlands, dipping her nose in other commissioners district, not supporting our gay community, confederate flag flap, turning against friends and retaliation against foe, husband running for mayor of Homestead. She is a disaster. The recall group will not have a tough time on this one. I am sure the signatures will be completed within days.

Anonymous said...

The Redland Hotel mortgage is also an issue along with the chain link fencing for all and don't forget the 8 1/2 sq mile ordinance trying to let all those who built ILLEGALLY off the hook and getting rid of DERM with the assistance of James Humble. For her to consider Redland her friend is a serious miscalculation. She was no where when they tried to put a dump there only until public outrage pressured her to actually make a statement someone else wrote for her.

What about the Faddis hiring in Dist. 8 and the shuffle into another job when it's unclear whether it was created, advertised or what.

She's a train wreck and needs to go for so many reason.

As to the budget as this blog reminded us, she put out a poster supporting our Library's then voted to underfund them. We want the money back the County gave to Arts Grants and the Tea Party people on the Commission and the Mayor would like to make everyone as stupid as Bell so they're compliant!

Anonymous said...

Lynda Bell represents all the wrong qualities people go into politics, greed, power and special interests , oh and ideology, the tea party kind. her quote in response to the recall shows her small minded ness. The point Lynda is not whether you vote to raise or lower taxes but whether you respond to the needs of your constituents. in this case, Lynda and the other misguided 7 commissioners is that you have i ignored and dismissed the needs, desires and urging of your constituents! POWER TO THE PEOPLE !!!!!!

Anonymous said...

So - will Lynda Bell be cowered now into restoring funding to the libraries, paying for the Pet's Trust and adequately funding fire rescue? She, along with the rest of the Commission, will get their chance Sept 10 to reconsider their ill-fated, ill-advised flat millage vote of July. They can save face by saying they were misinformed by the Mayor in July, the vote was hurried, they had no idea of the implications. Or, they can compound their error and plunge the county into the chaos that is emerging. Dissension, ill-will, mistrust. Not the way to run a County or for any community to prosper. The New York Times story is waiting in the wings. And the Miami Herald? They are gasping for breath at the instability of it all.

What about the new district office that cost us $100's of thousands to remodel? What about voting to lift that deed restriction of no residential outside the UDB on the former Brown property? What about her endorsement of the Christian Family Coalition? What about her being the National Delegate to the Right to Life group? What about her giving excess money from her campaign to the right to life group instead of a local needy group?

How about naming a building with $10,000,000 of public dollars in it after her mother who did nothing for the community? She could have named it after Luciana Bullard who recently died.

Anonymous said...

I'm not a big Lynda Bell fan but she has my sympathy. Those seeking her recall sound nutty. Picking a name out of a hat? What were they thinking?

Anonymous said...

Bell is permanently stuck on stupid. Her re election campaign people are racking her over the coals for their $$, feeding her with bad information.

She will hold her votes like she holds a grudge. That will be her undoing. I can't wait for the woe is me Bully Pulpit speeches when she plays the "victim". This is a re run of her Homestead Mayoral loss.

Thankfully, there's light at the end of the tunnel when she ride off to the sunset and looks for another community, state or congress to mess up even more then it is now!

Maybe she'll move to Palmetto Bay and run for Mayor there!

What about her and her aide Eddie 's trip to the Orient that we paid for so she could visit the Genting casino in Singapore.

For Whom the Bell Tolls...for a BELL RECALL!

Glad to see citizens start to play their role in our democracy.

Her complaint about the recall as "an ill-conceived plot" sounds like Bell's palsy.

About two years ago commisioners were recalled for raising taxes, no we are trying to recall for not raising taxes, is that right? Can we try to be consistent? Can we just round up all the stray cats and dogs and leave them on the pet's trust door step and leave our taxes alone? Maybe make a new license plate for the stray dogs and cats so you can support the new tax for them

Frost & Company need to gather about 4,385 valid signatures, meaning they need to collect at least 8,500 just to make sure they have enough to account for bad signatures, non-voters, and people who live outside District 8. The sponsors have 60 days from the date of approval of the form by Harvey Ruvin to collect the signatures. That works out to 142 signatures every 24 hours. Impossible? No. But Vanessa Brito tried to recall 5 commissioners and only got enough signatures for 1. Her 80% failure rate means that the recall is not a guaranteed success.

Even if they get enough signatures, there's still the election, set between 45 and 90 days from the date at which Ruvin certifies whether there are enough valid sigantures. Remember, Natacha Seijas beat her first recall attempt, so there is no guarantee here, either.

Genius, before your readers pop the champagne corks and keep patting themselves on the back, there's a lot of work to be done. Will everyone who signed in as "Anonymous" be willing to put there name on the line as both signatory and signature gatherer?

Anonymous said...

You betcha. I'll even grab a few petition forms and go where ever I'm told to get signatures. Bell is a self-serving disaster. I knew that the minute she moved the district office to the north end of the district, vacating perfectly good county-owned space in the South Dade Government Center that Katy Sorenson had occupied for 16 years.

Anonymous said...

This is our first chance to oust this crazy anti environmental bitch out of office , I have never seen anything like this. Genius please make a public push to get her out

Linda Bell needs to go before she causes any more damage.

By the way, Alvarez was not recalled on the raising taxes issue. Nice try though. If you go back to archives anywhere here or the Herald, it had to do with the Marlins debt he incurred on the backs of the taxpayers along with giving his staff raises. While that did increases taxes per se, it had to do with why. It had nothing to do with UMSA services or helping people like the Garbage services earn a decent wage. As to the budget, some may not know that part time workers, which the county has plenty of, have to contribute to the health care plan even though they're not entitled to it. It's sickening the smoke and mirrors this county plays with the budget and numbers.

Anonymous said...

What I find most interesting about all of this. The Miami Herald is almost burying this story unless you do a search. Would that have anything to do with Homestead and their primaries? Inquiring minds would like to know why this story is so insignificant, when in reality, it is a huge deal. I guess it has to do with Bell's husband's campaign and the Herald is hiding the story while replaying the Bateman story over and over again. Who says the commission doesn't control the media or the campaign workers. Another reason I won't subscribe to the useless paper.

Where do I sign? What a cancer on this community. Try representing the people not your own self interests.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe the posts. I had not idea anyone felt the way I did. Time to celebrate.

Anonymous said...

Screw that ANON, I will camp out at the Florida city Walmart and beg for signatures, if that is what it will take! Everyone here in dist 8 HATES Bell. I did get her un-elected one time before, and I can do it again.

Just a few words.. Elaine Navarre. Left this earth in May 2013. Looking for her money that was somehow orchestrated out of her home property by fiancé and Mr. & Mrs. Bell for plumbing employment. Was she in despair when she died? I think so. Was she naive to offer these people that kind of assistance? Probably. Was it fair or just lawful to leave a friend and neighbor in that position for years? Part of her story is in court records, the rest is in Heaven!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Everything she does is ill-conceived. The only service she provides is to herself. An incompetent politician and a spiteful, mean personality, do not make for a good county commissioner. She uses that position to fulfill her own plans and vendettas. Karma, my dear, it will get to you...
