Mayor Steve Bateman's BFF Has Quite a Background. By Geniusofdespair

Mayor Bateman & School Owner Perez
Only in Florida could Ernesto Perez, a former sex offender, own a chain of schools. He started his first school 9 years after his arrest and incarceration.

If this crime were committed in Florida, would Ernesto Perez have had to live under a bridge like the rest of the sex offenders? Wouldn't that have been amusing, school owner not allowed to go near his own schools. How long does it take to get off the sex offender list, Ernesto Perez's crime was in 1990? Anyway, if you haven't already read the story in Miami New Times this is the link. Bateman is still being investigated for his relationship to Perez. It is all in Miami New Times.  Apparently Bateman is not the only politician receiving funding from Ernesto Perez.

Tenuous reasoning and trivial story.

I admire Perez and all that he has done for so many. He is a successful entrepreneur and plays the game well.

Sorry -- I don't care if he was in a rock and roll band. Sexual assault on a 15 year old is not trivial!

Perez, by way of his generous campaign contributions, is now gang raping Florida.

First anonymous, admire this from Perez's appeal which was denied: Perez's principal complaint is that his sentence was excessive and, when compared to the sentences imposed on his co-defendants, unduly disparate so as to deny him equal protection of the law. We disagree. Jennifer was subjected to multiple and simultaneous sexual assaults in a motel room in the plain view of eight to ten individuals. During the course of the sexual assaults, Perez exposed his genitals to her in an attempt to have her perform oral sex and, when she refused, he repeatedly struck her on the buttocks with a belt. This was a debasing and degrading invasion of Jennifer's person and we do not find a six-month county jail sentence, out of a possible eighteen months, to be excessive.

Homestead? Mayor Bateman? Linda Bell? This is exactly what people expect. Only worse.

He served his time. Forget about it.

I can not believe that he is running a college that has young females there!

Unfortunately, not only is he hanging out in homestead ---he really has taken all the vacant store fronts which used to be part of the charm of old homestead and made them schools buildings that are spread out for blocks on Krome. The city used to fight storefront churches and now they need to reconsider storefront colleges.

Don't forget about his "employees who make $25K a year" giving $500 donations to Mayor Steve Bateman. That's like two weeks pay for a mayor in Homestead? Really?
That is criminal stuff so it might be back to jail to serve some more time.

Donna Bateman got commissions on $2-$3 million in transactions with Ernesto's Florida Education Center.
The Batemans thought nobody would catch on to their little scheme.
They were so dumb they even used Steve Bateman's lawyer.
This will be an unstoppable chain of events for the benefit of Homestead.

The X-Man, Selsnick, Ruiz, Bovo, Eddy Gonzalez, Fresen, Garcia, Sosa are all in some kind of cahoots with this guy.
There is a national scene sideshow also with the likes of msnbc clown Al Sharpton, Sens. Bennett, Gillibrand, Nelson, Menendez, Majority leader Eric Cantor and Rep. Michael Grimm. Perez was a player but now everyone will run away.

Donna Bateman did not get that commission, her agency did. Instead of attacking the Batemans and Perez, why don't you thank them for all the good they have done for the community?

See Miami Herald cover story July 2nd 2013. Bateman is under investigation.

Good journalism would have proven that he is a "registered sex offender"! Why has no other "real" news agency presented or reported these "so called" facts? Attacking people whose success, you are clearly jealous and envious of, does not give you the right to mislead our community!!!!

Quoting from and linking to Miami New Times, not our story.

From Miami New Times:
The specifics of the case against Perez are spelled out in a 1992 Wisconsin Court of Appeals ruling. Perez, who played under the alias "Rhett O'Neill," had been touring the country with his band, Young Turks. After a show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on May 11, 1990, a 15-year-old girl accused Perez and three bandmates of gang-raping her at their motel room.

"During the course of multiple and simultaneous assaults, Perez approached [the victim], removed his penis from his pants, and attempted to have her perform oral intercourse," according to an appeals court summary of the case. "When she refused, Perez put his penis back into his pants and repeatedly struck her buttocks with a belt."
