I have been to Sleepless Night twice and it was great, I am sorry to see it has been canceled this year because of lack of funding. Sleepless Night was when most of the venues in Miami Beach opened their doors for free. There were mini concerts, outdoor performance events, free admission to museums such as the Wolfson, etc. People were everywhere, it was festive and Sleepless Night went on way past my bedtime.
Where is the Knight Foundation when you really need them?

That was supposed to be last month, right?

Where is the Knight Foundation? Glorifying Alberto Ibarguen at Art Basel VIP parties.
I don't know I was just looking for the date when I found this. Wait, I looked at my old post and it was in November. I guess I am a little slow to react. I knew it was near Art Basel.
Forget about Manny Diaz self service autobiographies: the best seller book to be written would be the insider financial history of the Miami Herald, detailing pay packages for the top wage earners while staff are forced to furloughs.
Try asking where the City Manager was in not making this happen? George Gonzalez dropped the ball. The City didnt want to work for something it considered of questionable value despite how nice it was for residents. In other words, the tourists didn't come for it. Miami Beach won't lift a finger for residents but tourists? So unless you can prove the hotels are filled then you shouldn't spend the dollars. Under Gonzalez the staff were lazy and short sighted. Now we know with all the arrests many were unethical and on the take.
