In a Tampa Bay Times report on the Charlie Crist conversion to Democrat, former Dem. candidate for governor Alex Sink is quoted: "I don’t go anywhere without strangers walking up to me on the street and asking me, and sometimes begging me and sometimes crying about their desire to see me run again..." Want to hear a cry, Alex? Try this:
We can't say this enough or repeat it often enough: Alex Sink, stay away from Florida politics. You had your chance. You ran a terrible campaign. It is time to move on.
(I gave to Sink's campaign at a fund raiser held at the home of Claudio Osorio, focus of a Herald report today on his indictment on federal fraud charges. I urged Sink, as the state's CFO, to investigate abuses at the state administration fund that cost taxpayers over $150 million in losses. She didn't.)

Agreed, how do you lose to a felon like Scott? Terrible. Also, it's unfortunate that it matters, but she has a face for radio.
The quality of most of the potential and actual candidates at all levels of elected offices leave a lot to be desired.
Sometimes peoples ego's are bigger than the reality. She really needs to stay home. I supported her, even as a Republican because I knew how bad Scott was and is.
Stay home cannot be said enough. I don't know if I'd support Crist, only because I'm just mad about the politics. He was a decent Governor and the party threw him under the bus. We are now stuck with Rubio, who I didn't support either, I voted for Crist in the Senate race.
So, if I have to hold my nose and register as a Democrat just to vote in the primary, I will do so to support almost anyone running against Sink and to support Crist if he chooses to run.
It is amazing but we can absolutely agree on this issue and also that Scott is the worst Governor this State has ever had.
We have to keep our focus on our major goal: Getting Rid of Scott. Whoever is the Democratic nominee, we must support with all we have to give. My gut feeling is we have to go with a Mayor. We need a new and fresh future and I am reluctant about rehashing old fights, dealing with yesterday leaders, and going back to live in the past. But more important than anything, we need someone who can unify us, get the state back to serving the needs of people, and get the people's business back on track. Interestingly, Scott has unified Democrats, Independents, and Republicans and our new governor can build on that to get us all working together on our future.
Great article. Great responses.
I am a republican and love charlie crist and will vote for him he thinks of people first which is how it needs to be . Dont care if he switches parties for personal gain ge was a good governor and a protector of the everglades
Crist has many possible leadership opportunities. He was a big Obama supporter so he may be looking at a national leadership role. Obama may need him on his team in Washington.
The Democrats finally have a window of opportunity and the best they can come up with is Crist, an opportunistic whore, and Alex Sink, the most desultory campaigner in history? Alex had so much opportunity against Scott but she blew it.
The old school Cuban Republicans are finally losing their grip and we can't come up with an appealing crossover Democratic Latino? How about with all the populist rantings on the national level finding another Lawton Chiles? I think a Dem in that modl could do VERY well.
The Dems backing either Crist and Sink would be about losing momentum and opportunities.
How can you say that Sink should go away because she ran a bad campaign and not say the same to Crist? Crist ran a much worse campaign in 2010. The Senate race was his to lose. He was the frontrunner by a mile and a pissed it away. Crist wound up with 29% of the vote. Sink had 48%.
Sink is a loser candidate. There must be many Florida residents ready willing and able to defeat lunatic Scott?
Dan Gelber would be a great candidate but I have heard he wants to be AG not Governor. Another great candidate would be Nan Rich. Charlie Crist is part of the past. We need to move on and find some new candidates.
Sorry Charlie. I don't forget.
You shape shifted to appease McCain to be his Vice Presidential nominee by getting married to a woman all so you could appear "normal" on the national stage.
People remember your exploits on the Tampa/St. Pete gay bar scene. What won't you say or do to get what you want?...and shame on the Florida Democratic Party for courting this hypocrite opportunist. It was just two years ago that you were jamming Kendrick Meek down everyone's throat and chastising everyone who felt differently about him. The party is just as guilty and will fail again!
Good luck with this big Shit Sandwich!
Claudio Osorio, Craig Toll and Antonio Boccalandro perhaps taught Madoffs and Rubensteins the possibilities. Let's not forget the thousands who lost their jobs and livelihoods as a result.
