ALERT THERE IS MORE TIME TO VOTE: TODAY and MONDAY! By Geniusofdespair

UPDATE: 3:10 Doors unlocked people allowed to vote again. Maybe the chanting did it.

UPDATE: 2:46pm DORAL CLOSED DOWN OVERWHELMED BY VOTERS: PEOPLE ARE DEMANDING TO VOTE, "YELLING LET US VOTE!" read it in the Miami Herald (and watch the vido)...

“We had the best of intentions to provide this service today,” she said (Christina White of Elections). “We just can’t accommodate it to the degree that we would like to.”

Shortly after, however, the department locked its doors and shut down the operation without explanation. The people in line did not get to vote. “Let us vote!” they shouted.

This was written this morning:

VERY IMPORTANT:

In Miami-Dade, voters can request an absentee ballot in person, and turn it in, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, and between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday at the elections headquarters at 2700 NW 87th Ave., Doral.

YOU CAN VOTE TODAY!

Good to know Genius!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Trying to avoid the long lines, I requested my ballot on 10/31 and have not received it yet. My husband and I were already planning on camping out at our precinct on Tuesday. Thanks again!!!!!

BTW--Vote against Fernandez-Rundle!!! El Nuevo Herald reported today that BOVO's Aide was never questioned as a suspect but rather as an accessory to the investigation. I guess delivering 100+ Absentee Ballots to the post office is not a crime in Miami. Unbelievable!

DeFede points out this extension is in Republican-heavy Doral -- why not South Dade Gov't Center?

Extend election day voting - maybe. Extend early voting - no. I have never had more than a 15 minute wait on election day to vote.

Why couldn't those idiots at the elections department put this plan together months ago? The amount of incompetence there is frightening.

Extend election day voting? For what? As long as you get there by 7 pm, they have to give you a ballot.

Pure incompetence. Townsley, the department director's secretary, has no business being the head of our elections department.

Was Gimenez told to shut it down by the Florida republican party? There should be am investigation. Gimenez should show his face on tv about this fiasco which os a national disgrace. Again, in Miami Dade.

Social media is the story here and the Obama ground game. How stupid are the elections people to think one printer would suffice? They set this up to fake out the judge on the voting rights lawsuit thinking nobody would show up.
Then shut it down when masses shOwed up, what's the judge gonna think of their good faith now?

Gimenez is never at fault! He always blame someone elese. It was the same when he was City of Miami manager..... He either did not know about it or someone did it without his blessing.
Some things will never change......
