I have been told the budget adopted by the Miami-Dade County Commission eliminated the Office of Sustainability. First Lynda Bell dismantled DERM and now there is no Office of Sustainability. And the Mayor apparently doesn't believe in Climate Change. It makes you wonder where we are headed.

The Office of Sustainability was filled with unqualified political hacks. Terry Murphy's wife was among them. Good riddance to that useless gang.

I have no idea what Terry Murphy ever did to you, Layla, nor do I know his wife, but I am concerned that an Office that was established by former Commissioner Katy Sorenson has been eliminated. That Office was supposed to coordinate the county response to issues like Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. You may be happy about bad policy decisions in our county because they fit with your personal agenda of malice toward certain individuals, but this change in direction by our county is not one to celebrate.

Sorry I missed this meeting. Tropical Audubon is one of the best local enviro groups around, with an Executive Director who knows her stuff, Laura Reynolds. Genius, it is fantastic to see you are back, your readership missed you!! We love Gimleteye but we need both you: yin and yang.
