To recap quickly, I rejected Wallace because of her husband Otis Wallace who is the Mayor of Florida City. I said: "Her husband has skeletons in his closet and there have been charges against him. If he gets arrested, do we want a judge with a husband in jail? Or worse, what if they decide not to prosecute because she is a judge? That would be a tragedy."
The other judge, Andrea Wolfson who will win, got the support of the Gay and Judge Hate Group Christian Family Coalition. That endorsement really bothered me even though she had a good rating with the Miami Dade Bar. I said I would vote for her anyway but I just couldn't. I sent in my ballot today and made a last second change. I ended up voting for the third candidate in the race Arthur Spiegel.

Always vote for Trial Experience. And Arthur Spiegel appears to have more experience than Wallace and Wolfson Combined.
why are you so obsessed with who endorsed wolfson? she is the best candidate hands down. who cares who endorsed her. you are blinded by your hatred for conservatives. wolfson isn't conservative but you hate her only because she is endorsed by them.
Arthur Spigel is thoughtful educated judge. Why on earth anyone should be a judge without extensive trial experience is beyond me. Martindale Hubbell is a peer review related organization. You don't get a high grade if you aren't good and other attorney panelists approve of you. I suspect the vote on an attorney is secret ballot.
Being a judge should be a promotion in the field of law, not something you do because you can't make a living as a sole practitioner or work with others happily.
There is a political industry of "Political Consultants" who select female Latinas to run against older non Hispanic judges. That is why you see an abundance of attractive females running for the positions. For the most part, they are inexperienced and clueless about what they should know. BUT, they have been told they can win and they go out there and campaign and give over money for the advice.
First off, Ricker-Wolfson is NOT Latina, so there goes your first theory. Second of all, Wolfson tried a ton of cases as a prosecutor, including violent crimes, rapes and MURDERS. Yeah, I think that qualifies her in the "trial experience" category just as much as Spiegel...Not to mention she had some of the highest reviews from her peers and it is undisputed that she is fair, impartial and extremely competent.
Second commenter: No I spoke directly to Wolfson twice. Read my post about trashing judges it has nothing to do with politics, ie conservatives, it has to do with respect for the decisions of others in her profession. Press the link in the article on judge hate group. And BTW, Fuck you for putting words and motivations on me that I don't have. I personally think neither group -- Save Dade or CFC should be endorsing candidates. I don't think judges should be politicizing their views and the endorsements are telegraphing they agree with the views of the endorser. And the endorser is also a hate group, that makes it worse.
Well, anonymous, of you look at wolfson's website, she claims she has been in 39 jury trials as a lawyer. Spiegel has been lead counsel in more than 2xs as many trials as Wolfson in criminal division & he has thousands of proceedings in civil division, whereas Wolfson has ZERO.
Wolfson and a few friends bought her DCBA and CABA ratings. You can't buy spiegel's peer review rating.
Andrea wolfson's website says she has 39 jury trials. Spiegel has more than 80 jury trials. In addition to having more than 2xs the jury trials as Wolfson, Spiegel has thousands of non-jury proceedings in civil court and juvenile court. No candidate has the experience, quality or quantity as Spiegel does.
You correctly point out that a Martindale Hubbell peer review is one that can't be bought or orchestrated. Neither Wolfson nor Wallace has a peer review rating like Spiegel has. The DCBA rating and the CABA ratings are based on votes easily manipulated by a few people.
I don't see a write in section for that on my absentee ballot. I would like to write in Spiegel.
I would like to vote for Spiegel, but on it doesn't seem to have a place for a write in.
Spiegel was only in the primary.
