A Word to Misguided Judges Endorsed by the Christian Family Coalition. By Geniusofdespair

Anthony Verdugo
The Christian Family Coalition endorsement is a REAL problem for ALL JUDGES AND ALL JUDGE CANDIDATES unless they agree that trashing OTHER judges is acceptable rhetoric.  I really think judges/judge candidates with the Christian Family Coalition Endorsement are misguided and that they should renounce their CFC endorsement and here is why:

In a Press Release from the CFC dated 9/22/2010 (in response to the 3rd DCA opinion upholding Judge Lederman in the Gil adoption case) Anthony Verdugo said:
Corrupt Appeals Judges VIOLATE Oath of Office, Irrationally Attack Law Protectng Children! Florida Voters: Lawless Judges Must Be Impeached!
CFC Verdugo said further in the same press release - as if the above wasn't bad enough:
However, today, corrupt judges on a Third District Court of Appeals panel, Gerald B. Cope Jr., Frank A. Shepherd and Vance E. Salter, intentionally usurped the authority of the Florida State legislature and Florida voters by behaving as if they were "gods" and undemocratically imposing their warped prejudices and personal whims on 18 million Floridians.
How on earth could ANY judge/judge candidate be associated with a group that would say such inflammatory and untrue words against judges over their ruling? The subject of the case is irrelevant. The fact is, the 3 judges were doing their job. How could any judge who claims to be impartial, accept baseless charges against another judge over a ruling they made? The judges being endorsed didn't hear the testimony in the case so how could they put their good name with the CFC that makes baseless claims about other judges' conduct because they make rulings that disagree with CFC? Why would those endorsed ever allow another judge to be maligned - in the context of a ruling - by a group that endorsed them?  How could any judge or judge candidate bear witness to another judge being called 'corrupt' and 'lawless' for their opinion on a case? How could any judge or judge candidate take an endorsement from a group calling for the impeachment of a judge over his or her opinion on a case?

A Note to stupid judges/judge candidates with the CFC endorsement: Let me define corrupt for you --- it means "Having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain."

Do you think Judges Gerald B. Cope Jr., Frank A. Shepherd and Vance E. Salter acted dishonestly and took money or gained anything by their opinion? No?  Do you think they should be impeached? Then how can you take an endorsement by a group that says that they have and they should be? You must stand up for those in your profession that have to make those hard decisions every day, the men and women charged with following the rules of law.

I am calling ON ALL JUDGES and JUDGE CANDIDATES to renounce your CFC endorsement. Don't let this hate group co-opt your reputation and make you appear as hateful as they are. The Christian Family Coalition doesn't  just hate and attack Gay Groups...they hate and attack judges that don't side with their positions too.

I endorse Greer Wallace!

Everyone knows the CFC hates gays. I. Didn't know they hate others by extension. Having the endorsement is a reason not to vote for that judge.

Good post. Andrea Wolfson has the CFC endorsement. Let's all call her and tell her to renounce.

Bur Brad, do we really want the wife of the Mayor for Life Wallace? In this case, I'll take the lessor of two evils - the known one who has an anti gay endorsement, not the wife of someone who may or may not be facing criminal charges at some point (speculation, yes, but not too far off)

Why are you so against Christians?

Rundle has enough trouble convicting someone as it is, can you imagine Rundle ever indicting someone married to a judge? The Mayor of Florida City would become even stronger. I would ask Judge Wolfson to drop the endorsement because that is the right thing for her to do.

I am not against Christians. I am a Christian. I am against right wing fanatical people wearing a Christian mantle but instead of preaching love and tolerance they preach hate.

Besides the CFC is NOT a Christian group. They say this about themselves:

"Florida's tireless human rights and social justice organization"

ORGANIZATION NOT CHURCH...

Don't waste your time. Republican judges are tone deaf. I believe that neither Save Dade nor the Christian Family Coalition should be endorsing judges. It is just wrong on both sides.

CFC calls Save-Dade an "extremist hate group"(see QUOTE below).

The founder of CFC is Anthony Verdugo, a hate-filled so-called "Christian" wannabe who's bigoted view of the world enables him to use grossly inflammatory language to willfully misrepresent bonafide community-based organizations that tell the truth. He needs to go the way of all tyrants like Sen. Joe McCarthy.

"It is troubling and deeply offensive to see marriage shamelessly manipulated and cynically exploited by "SAVE" Dade, an extremist hate group operating in Miami-Dade County whose record clearly shows it cares nothing about marriage, but rather about bullying and discriminating against anyone who disagrees with their agenda; for them, it's not about tolerance, it's about tyranny!"

I think ALL canditates for any public office should reject their endorsement. Some may stumble into it not knowing just how hateful a group the are. But if they are running for any office they should keep their eyes open.

If something applies to religious judges that same rule should apply to atheist judges. If you think judges shouldn't get endorsements from religious groups, then judges shoudn't accept endorsements from atheist groups either.

Now, you say that b/c the religious group happens to be a Christian one, but you wouldn't dare to say anything about Muslims b/c that'd be "hate, racism, intolerance" etc etc all the political correctness... and you'll get a protest and a boycott in front of your house, and you or your loved ones might be a target...

Why does so may people hate Christians so much? Just b/c they are peaceful they're fair game?

Think about all the great deeds Christians do every day for society

Rick you have earned the putz name. You are lost in space. Read the friggin' post. This is not about whatever you think it is about.

Follow the money. People need to look at the financial disclosures of these candidates' campaigns. How many of these campaigns bought tables at the one of the CFC's events?

They're filled with hate and fear mongering, in fact sometimes it's hard to tell them apart from Fox News. Keep religion out of my government, please, and double that for keeping religion out of the courthouse. Fer crissakes they already get a free pass on taxes...isn't that enough?

Have not heard that word for a long time. Howdy Doody had a character named flap doodle in the early 1950s.
