Vice President Joe Biden on Monday visits Everglades National Park

For real: Ron Bergeron is making an appearance at the Joe Biden visit to Everglades National Park. Here are photos of his ride (Bergeron's, not the VP's). Ron is a very wealthy rock miner (exploiting Everglades limestone for cement), land speculator (exploiting Everglades wetlands for suburban sprawl), and claims to know more about the Everglades than anyone who drives a Hummer like his. By Jove, I think EOM has finally discovered who Ron Bergeron aspires to be. (Note: Bergeron is wearing his "black hat". His "white hat" remains in the Hummer on the dashboard.)

You really have to hit this car to increase the size to get its full impact.

Biden is a certified moron. It would be great to see him speak and hear his gaffes in person.

Advocate for the Gladesman Culture and Preserving the Everglades.
Biography
Ron Bergeron is a sixth generation Floridian who embodies the terms outdoorsman and
conservationist. For most of his life, he has been a tireless advocate for the preservation
and restoration of the Florida Everglades and has rolled up his sleeves to protect its fragile
ecosystems. In 2006, Governor Charlie Crist acknowledged Bergeron’s passion and dedication
with an appointment to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Once sworn in,
he was designated point person to lead the Commission’s efforts to protect and conserve
Everglades wildlife.

Bergeron has also been a strong advocate for the “Gladesman” culture. In fact, he founded
the Everglades History and Cultural Museum to preserve and showcase man’s love and respect
for the Everglades environment. In addition, Bergeron is involved with the Everglades Coordinating Council, an umbrella organization for conservation and sportsmen’s groups in South Florida; the Old Davie School Historical Museum, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Broward Partnership for the Homeless and the Nova Entrepreneur Program. Bergeron lives on a working ranch on the fringes of the Everglades near Weston, Florida and runs more than three dozen companies under the Bergeron Family of Companies.

Since you know so much about the man:

Is it true what one woman told me at the press conference that Ron Bergeron sees pretty women in his office wearing a speedo with a camouflage print and his cowboy boots and hat?

That would be quite a sight to see. I would pay money.

Hmm. This post isn't about Biden. It's about a jerk who drives a gold-plated Hummer and struts around boasting he's the best thing since sliced alligator when it comes to preserving the Everglades. Cue, the laugh track.

I'd love to be creative enough to put a video of this event, with the cast of characters (and their captions) on a you tube video with the sound track to Deliverance!

OMG, the thoughts are just endless!

While waiting for the Veep to arrive, Alligator Ron spit tobacc-y juice and it almost went on my shoe. Ugh!!! The guy is straight out of Hiaasen novel, only not so funny because he's real.
