Term Limits for County Commissioners, Let the Fun Begin! By Geniusofdespair

Vanessa Brito's "Miami Voice" is preparing for a citizen petition drive to impose two four year terms on County Commissioners. There will be no salary increase so it should pass. Vanessa Brito was the same person who ran the successful recall of County Commissioner Natacha Seijas, so she knows how to mount a petition drive.

This one is in the bag in my opinion.

Will she have Braman's million dollar purse this time?

Vanessa Brito is sexy!

This petition drive will not be necessary. One of the county commissioners has already prepared a resolution to put the same exact question on the ballot.

Of course, the sponsoring commissioner will need to have 7 votes to put it on the ballot. If the Board votes it down, then we will need for the Miami Voice group to hit the streets.

Yes. Seems like a another publicity stunt by Britto. Various commissioners have indicated their support for another attempt for 8 year term limits being place on the ballot by the commission without salaries and other caviats. I know this will damp Brittos money making possibilities, since she gets paid for all that, but no big deal. I'm preatty sure shell come up with another gimick to make money on peoples discontent.

Id rather take my chances with Vanessa than leave it up to the commissioners, is not like they havent had a chance to act on this.

To the idiot anon who claims commissioners have indicated their support for another attempt for 8 year term limits being place on the ballot by the commission without salaries and other caveats:

Then why have the commissioners never placed that question on the ballot? What has been taking so long? If they truly want to do it. they should do it promptly and save us the trouble of gathering the signatures. It would be welcomed by everyone.

If there are term limits won't we be trading Commissioners like Moss for Commissioners like Bell and Bovo?

YUP!! To the last anon. Makes you think? Huh? And don't forget, Carlos Lopez Cantera and Juan Zapata are shopping for a Commission seat of their own.

GOD this one should be in the bag but don't go out on a limb just yet; after all we're the ones that keep voting those jerks in year after year.

Dear Esther, why hasn’t Britto done it either? Because now she makes money doing so. That’s why. No higher calling, no community service, no believes or principle… just business. That’s what she does for a living. And by the way, I really don’t care if she makes money; I just think it’s important to be truthful about these things.

This blog along with many others spent countless hours a day serving the community with information and insight without being on anyone’s payroll or getting money on the side to advance anyone’s particular agenda. Real community service.

Regarding your issue about the commissioners being prompt… read the yesterday’s paper…The same day you posted this distorted comment. http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/02/09/2633023/group-submits-ballot-proposal.html The County is already drafting language regarding term limits to be put on the ballot in November. Prompt enough for you?

In response to Esther, who referred to me as "the idiot anon" for suggesting a commissioner was preparing to place the question on the ballot, please read the Herald today.

Esther
good question and the bully attacking her and Brito, everyone doesn't read on line, they also read the paper that is not up to date. So stop badgering my readers. The Commissioners are doing it because they know Vanessa was going to do it. She said as much.

Gotta love the social bullies - so Miami Cuabnichi. Would love to see some of them in person in open forum. Let's see how they bully people then, as they defend our wonderful Commissioners.

Go Vanessa, can the scumbags already!
