Commissioner Francis Suarez on Beer Ad on City Building. By Geniusofdespair

I wrote about the beer ads on the MRC City of Miami building on September 8th.

Looks like the mainstream media is playing catch up. In an NBC video yesterday on the subject, City of Miami Commissioner Suarez said he doesn't like that he gets complaints from his mother about the ads on the buildings facade. Mayor Regalado supports the ads as he said the funds are needed. Commissioner Sarnoff says we get the $10,000 on ANY ads, in other words it doesn't have to be a beer ad. Good point. That was my complaint, the subject matter. Bad enough they drape the building with ads, but beer ads? Francis, listen to your mother.

The problem with the beer ad is that it is against city code. The print portion is not supposed to exceed 15% of the total area - this one does.
But then again, the city always breaks its own rules.
I also wonder if they pulled a permit?????

Oh NO doesn't mayor Regalado know the evils of beer? I have been a vistim of its seduction, after 4 beers your are capable of taking the most wayward of strays home with you? Beer is a gateway drink next thing you know you will order a scotch or even end up at at a wine tasting! Beer also has side effects like making you GO more often and beautifying the opposite sex (or same depending on your orientation).
Sometimes beer makes you honest which probably accounts for Suarez ans Sarnoffs aversion to beer.

It is disgusting that the City of Miami allows the taxpayers assets to be defaced by anything, much less disgusting ads.

Considering the way the dias is defaced at every meeting I say the beer ad is a minor offender

Lobbyists and the outdoor advertising industry control Marc Sarnoff and Tomas Regalado. No surprise they quickly do whatever the outdoor advertising wants. Unfortunately, the goal of the billboard companies is to ruin our views and distract us with ugly tacky ads.
