News Corp Chairman Rupert Murdoch faces laughter at annual meeting ... by gimleteye

The New York Times reports on the heated annual meeting of News Corp. in Los Angeles, where Rupert Murdoch defended his tarnished billion dollar empire. New York Times: "We’re fair and balanced,” Mr. Murdoch said, echoing the network’s catchphrase and drawing laughs from the audience." The point here? If you are motivated enough to attend an annual meeting of News Corp., you already learned the difference between fact and fiction.

We really, really need to be watching deregulation of the FCC and an environment that professes to protect freedom of speech, while it really marginalizes divergent voices. Where are our small radio stations, and newspapers. Who owns our TV stations and what in the hell are they doing with the internet.

We need to be wary of a media that is controlled by a hand full of powerful entities. I have been shouting this from the rooftops for a long time.

Thank goodness for blog sights like this.

Did Murdoch's pretty young wife jump out of her chair and punch the audience members?
