Story of A Pig: Lynda Bell. By Geniusofdespair

That pig County Commissioner Lynda Bell has got to go. Are you listening Vanessa Brito of Miami Voice?

Here is what she did. She insisted on this wetland's task force to f--k with Derm. Seriously. It was so transparent what she was doing even Commissioner Moss referred to it - I have it on video ...he didn't say f--k however. He said about Lynda's proposed Task Force: "The thing we can't do is throw DERM under the bus on this issue. That is my concern." So, with that warning, Lynda got her friggin' task force.

This week it was formed. There were 7 members to be nominated, one by the Mayor and 6 by the 13 County Commissioners. Lynda made 6 of the 9 nominations. All 6 of her nominees made it on the task force. She had 5 picks originally which was already piggish but then she had the GALL to add a 6th nominee late Monday after 5 (the choices were suppose to have been in Monday - See email above) The fix was in. She certainly didn't need that 6th nominee except to pummel the lone environmentalist that was assured a seat prior to her 6th entry. That is why I am calling her a pig, she didn't need 6 nominations when most other Commissioners only made 1. I swear this Bell woman is trouble with a capital "PIG".

Special thanks goes out to County Commissioners Rebeca Sosa, Xavier Suarez, Sally Heyman, Barbara Jordan and Jean Monestime for not going with Lynda's slate. Even Dim Bruno managed not to go with the pack entirely. The rest (except Audrey Edmonson and Dennis Moss who didn't vote) voted as expected. Bovo, the new guy, will soon be part of the unreformable majority. We now await the Mayor's appointment. Don't expect good things from this task force.

My picks would have been, Dennis Olle nominated by Xavier Suarez, Sara Fain nominated by Jean Monestime and Laura Reynolds nominated by Dennis Moss. By the way Lynda Bell, Laura Reynolds lives in your district.

So not only did Lynda cook up this dreadful task force, she got all her people on it by nominating all of them. Oink. District 8 voters...What did you do?? You had better right this wrong -- Lynda Bell -- before she does some real damage. She is as devious as Natacha Seijas. Little surprise as there is a Seijas confidant, Jose Luis Castillo, in her district office most days, and his wife also works there.

Lois, call me, let's talk some more!

This is one of the clearest examples of the chaos unleashed by insiders who, instead of being called to account for the destruction of environmental resources, have been insulated by the economic emergencies they helped to create through the triumph of the radical right in Florida and its anti-government, pro-business ethos that market forces can protect people better than regulations. Dennis Moss is right to caution against throwing DERM under the bus, but he sat right in that chair through the years and years that government agency authority to regulate businesses that exploit wetlands was under attack in Miami-Dade County. During the housing boom, it had the force of a hurricane benefiting insiders like the founders of US Century Bank. And once Rick Scott was elected governor and the signals sent to the counties; environmental protection in Florida HAS BEEN thrown under the bus. Recall Linda Bell.

What Gimleteye said!

This whole thing makes me sick. I am a dist. 8 voter and have yet to find anyone in my neighborhood who actually voted for her! The AB machine won on this one and we end up losing.

A recall can't come soon enough. I'd even venture to bet, we'd have the required number of signatures and then some within 72 hours of an approved, circulated petition.

This is a group effort. All the commissioners have to be held accountable for this developing fiasco. The south Dade cities were willing to take on Sorenson, but have sat strangely quiet in regard to taking on Bell. Only South Miami and Pinecrest have shown any leadership in the area. The "pro business" mantra has been spoken throughout Cutler and Palmetto Bay. Forget Homestead and Florida City as this is exactly what they want from the County.

Where are the community activists on any of these issues?

The good news is Steve Sauls will be a good rep. Bad news is Fuentes, Diaz bag man.

The culture of our county government is one elitism that was brought to its height with eight years of Alex Penelas. It continues to this day.

Whether elected to public office or working within the county government, there's no orientation of public service as the public servants they are.

There is no sense of obligation to serve in the public trust.

It's all about themselves as can be seen with the outrageous benefits with which the last county manager George Burgess will get paid for by private sector employees through taxes who will never in their lifetime see such benefits:

severance of one year of base salary, $326,340, plus deferred compensation of $22,000.

The 52-year-old career bureaucrat and his family will get medical and dental coverage until he’s 65 years old, under a county “Departure Incentive Program’’ that is available to select employees.

Unused sick time of about $79,892 and accumulated vacation pay of about $78,777 will be included in his next paycheck.

During the one-year severance period — which runs March 21, 2011, to March 18, 2012 — he will also get an expense allowance of $3,000 a month and a car allowance of $600 a month.

The chasm between county and city employees here and the private sector that struggles to provide for everyone is appalling and hideous. Remember the livelihood of all those in the public sector is entirely reliant on the taxes extracted from a struggling private sector that provides for everyone.

This is not about the 8.5 sq mile area; it was just a cover to go after all wetlands issues. Her benefactors own huge tracts (I'm talking thousands of acres of wetlands) east of both US 1 in Florida City and Card Sound Road. The real agenda is not hard to see when you understand who she is really working for.

DERM employees should double up on their enforcement and vigilance. Show her they will not be intimidated.

This is a Bell reach around to developers after Friends of West Kendall called her on it. It is a 'Look at the puppy' as the left reviews 'Wetlands' and the right hand steals the AG land. One issue with same end results:

You know what happens to pigs. They get slaughtered. In this case pigs get recalled.

Lynda Bell is showing that she learned nothing from her fiasco in Homestead. She is simply becoming an even bigger bully.

Too bad too many voters beleived her when she played victim in the November election. Voter remorse is running deep. We need to recall this loser before we all pay the price.

Homestead/Florida City citizens tried tried to warn voters in District 8 by kicking her out as Mayor of Homestead. The blame lies squarely, with West Kendall, areas of Cutler Bay and the vunerable assisted living facilities which Lynda's hired Absentee Voter experts hired by her got her elected. This woman is a disaster, vindictive, and will stop at nothing to destroy people, and our environment. DERM needs to take a stand and we and every environmental agency will be there for this Agency and also against Lynda Bell. I am counting on my calendar RECALL!!!!! YES SHE IS A PIG I could not thing of a better word for now. RECALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

G.O.D. should have a fever more often. You are sharp as ever here and on point.

We all need to buy water purifying machines as our water will be dirty and the wetlands gone. She didn't even try to hide her agenda. Between the lobbyists and the 8 1/2 mile people there is no chance to preserve anything on her watch. Who can take the blame for ELB (Evil Lynda Bell), the voters? or the present County commissioners who have endorsed this behavior?

She is out of control and no one is watching. Remember her threat made in the lowly Village of Palmetto Bay, home of her challenger and now her home turf. She told a rapt audience that she won't forget who supported her. I am sure the same holds true for those who opposed her. Don't expect the electeds in those towns and villages to oppose her and lose what they need from the county on her watch. This just sucks.

What goes around comes around. She will have her day at the pig roast.

Jeez, you invoke Vanessa Brito's name more often than a truck driver can curse. Let's face it. Brito dislodged Seijas on the tide and money started by Norman Braman. Without big cash backing, a recall effort is going nowhere. Bell's flying under the radar and most people even in Palmetto Bay don't know and don't care who she is. The approach more likely to succeed to to find a local politician who can be elevated as a realistic opponent to Bell in 2014. (Forget Gene Flinn. His star has dimmed.)

Braman was quoted in the Herald today stating, depending on what happens with the Charter Changes, he is ready to recall again. He can do it, and I believe him.

In regard to Bell, she's done, she just doesn't know it. Know one I know in Dist. 8 is giving her any more time to destroy our natural resources with the help of the unreformable majority.

Palmetto Bay doesn't carry Dist. 8, it certainly helps, but I'd venture to guess all those supposed people afraid of her, will vote to recall her.

Whoever is going to be the next Dist. 8 candidate better understand the unincorporated areas which neither Bell nor Flinn (sorry, I did support Flinn but this was where he was the weakest) got or get.

Regardless of the tide, Vanessa made the effort and did the work. She did it once, she'll do it again.

Lynda Bell RECALL!!!! Just a few reasons: Supporting rock mining, Not supporting our enviroment, Not supporting cultural arts, Not supporting DERM, Retaliation against citizens who she felt did not support her in a successful bid in an election, threating citizena (Lois Jones-worked hard to get her elected, Naming of the school in Homestead (Gateway Elem) should have been Audobun. Disrespect for Councilwoman Judy Waldman when Mrs. Waldman was gravely ill with breast cancer. Rude to Mr. Gimenez when he did not support you for district 8. These are rumors being discussed about you: Not supporting and recently reporting some farmers for not paying their workers. A taxpayer was reported for receiving two homestead exemptions. Another taxpayer was reported for tax violations. one of your groupies and money contributors from Keys Gate in this viasco. Oh! I nearly forgot the confederate flag flap where you claimed you did not see the sons of confederate marching directly in front of you. This was a total disrespect for the black people in Homestead and in this county. You were given another chance to help the people but instead of making the lives of the people better you are using it as a BULLY PULPIT. More reasons will be added .Your office is based on political retaliation on people. However, now you have involved people who supported you before see you as a mean spirited person. RECALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets do it...RECALL BELL before she ruins us.

Bell is a slick viper but she is no friend of our natural resources! She has been after taking DERM and doing everything to dismantle them and any agency that regulates our wetlands, environment, water - You will be sorry she ever got elected - She thinks she can bully everyone and the sad part is that this "TEA-PARTY" Commissioner will cause us dearly in our community and safety -
She needs to get RECALLED - I was told she only won by 300 or so votes -
WE need to STOP BELL before it is TOO Late!
Your right "What a PIG"!

How Do we start a RECALL?
