Marcelo Llorente Endorses Carlos Gimenez for Miami Dade County Mayor. By Geniusofdespair

There was a press conference at 11, Former Mayoral Candidate Marcelo Llorente has endorsed Carlos Gimenez, he said because of his energy, ideas and experience to represent ALL the people of the County. Good. Llorente did get almost 15% of the vote in the election held May 24th so this is a big coup for Gimenez's campaign. Carlos said he was honored to have the endorsement. He said the families were tied together for years and that he anticipates working with Marcelo to move the county forward.

Why Llorente supports GIMENEZ! The deal rumored was that Lorente either would run against popular Javier Souto for his Commission District or against David Rivera for a Congrssional Seat. Llorente's 15% may or may not go to Gimenez. That is a campaign strategist presumption. Llorente was never all that in the beginning and should have stayed out altogether.

LLorente decision to endorse Gimenez was no surprise. A deal, was a deal, was a deal. That's the only reason why John Edw. I mean Marcello Llorente went with Gimenez. Too bad this town can't keep secret the deal he made with Gimenez!

Genius,

I read your intro-statement:

..breaking the chokehold of Developers and Lobbyists.

Do you realize the Lobbyists you refere to and dvelopers your against have given Gimenez a cotribution? If I were "Genius" my candidate would have been Unlce Luke! not a longstanding County Commissioner. Sorry, I am confused as to why you endorsed a bureacrat.

Who cares where Llorente goes. I live in his district and he is a real piece of shit. Ask him about TALLAHASSEE :)Lots of stories there!! These Belen boys really think they are special. If he runs agains Souto, my favorite Commissioner he will LOSE!

Congratualtions Gimenez!! Former Representative Llorente is a great endorsement. I now see us winning. He will certainly, with his good looks and charm carry our campaign to victory.

Yes, Llorente will certainly carry something.. not sure what, but something. Can we say Family values??

Anonymous a few above...I am also a realist. Less awful people support Gimenez than Robaina and Luke didn't have a chance so why waste my vote.

I wish it were the case that all these godawful voters that look for a Hispanic only and are easily swayed by money or a radio show were not voting. That is why we will never have a black mayor the Hispanic vote is over 60%.

Genius,

Thank you for your honesty. Less awaful, not so bad lobbysits that also supported moving the UDB, is better than the really awfull lobbysits that also supported moving the UDB.

I feel your pain and understand. This town is really something!

The reason I am supporting Robaina is I see him better in creating jobs than Gimenez. Gimenez will do a good job in hunkering down the County, I just do not see him being creative enough or inspiring enough to get the County excited about a better future. Gimenez is an excellent administrator and career choice to be a Public eployee and later Commissioner is to be commended. I just see him in a roll that fits him better and that's as an administrator. He would have been my choice to be City or County Manager. A much better choice than Burges, a great dissapointment. However we need someone who has a vision and I saw that in Robaina. I know he is not your candidate. He is though, mine.

I appreciate you letting me share my thoughts. We do not agree on many things but I always enjoy reading your blog.

T Bennett, you forgot one important thing: honesty. Robaina is challenged to say the least. Also you should look up the duties of a strong mayor-- they are the duties of a manager. Honesty is número UNO for me. I could never vote for Robaina. Robaina's shadow banking, his censure from the Dept. Of Real estate, his close advisor Ralph the racist Arza and his allowing gambling on every corner in Hialeah with those slot machines -- makes me want to barf on the thought of Julio Robaina being mayor.

And he didn't pay the proper property taxes after he built on land that he owned. He is in real estate he knew he was cheating us all. He is an opportunist. You are wacky to vote for him.

Thanks, Marcelo, for being in synch with Kendall on this one.

It just so happens that we have someone in this race with real integrity. We don't get to say that every day. I underscore your comment, G.o.D. Honesty is key. Who ever steps into this seat is going to be in a hot one to be sure. We need no nonsense, straight talk and honesty. It's going to be a bumpy road. Gimenez for Mayor.

Dear Genuis:
If it's honsety you want Mr Gimenez does not have that. He has been in hiding since this nonsense about the ridiculous robo calls, I am probably the only person in Hialeah who voted for him but will not this time. Why hasn't he said who is behind these phones calls??? I personally find it sad and very offensive that anyone in his camp would attack Hialeah with out Mr. Gimenez's authorization and NOT get fired, what little hope I had that he could help restore AND LEAD the county into better times has evaporated since May 24. I will be staying home!!!

Have you not heard the PBA calls and got the PBA flyers against Gimenez. They are the worst I ever saw.

I believe that Frank May is behind the calls, it is his PAC that put them out. Both of the above are PAC's not related to the campaign. If you were a frequent reader you would know that is why I hate PAC's.

Geniusofdespair said...

He can't fire someone from a PAC btw. It is not legal for him to be involved with what they do.

Julio Robaina purchased billboard space on the illegal vacant City Inn on NW 80th Street. The County has been claiming the site is illegal for years. The Third DCA just agreed.

Robaina is ethically challenged. Very ethically challenged.

As to PAC's, absolutely...G.o.D. Some think they are helping and sometimes do more harm than good. It happens all the time and I am sure it is happening to some extent with each candidate.

Oh please it's barely a billboard in comparison to the others go call Jimmy Buffet and call him "ethically challenged".....

Of course you have heard of the Midas touch, everything King Midas touched turned to gold. Now Robaina also has the touch, but it is the Detritus touch, everything he touches turns to waste and corruption. You would be hard pressed to name one action that Robaina has taken as Hialeah mayor that wasn't to benefit himself personally. He was guilty of bribery in Hialeah Gardens before he was mayor, conflict of interest building on HHA property, hiring his mistress to a well paying job in Hialeah, and then putting her unqualified daughter in as councilwoman (she didn't even live in the city). He then had the councilwoman's new husband promoted to the rank of Police Commander. He has hired bimbos for secretaries at twice the rate of existing, hard working secretaries. He has corrupted the civil service system in the Hialeah Police Department by recreating a new rank, outside the civil service system, and promoted flunkies and his henchmen to this rank. His other crimes have been previously mentioned in the posts above; paying taxes on his shopping center as if it was vacant land, allowing video slot machines in the city and then committing obstruction of justice covering up the arrrests of his uncle and other friends. He took Hialeah from riches to bankruptcy. Robaina is dirty to the bone. Anyone who doesn't see this suffers from anal cranial insertion. Yes, it is hard to see the truth with your head up your ass.

Genius:

Can you please shed some light on Frank May ? He has been involved in the Seminole Theater fiasco in Homestead for several years and there have been questions regarding the accountings there. In 2009, he was very involved in the Bateman Mayoral election campaign and the PAC funded primarily by Wayne Rosen and Charles (Pinky) Munz. He is now on the Homestead payroll doing p.r. piece work for the Mayor at city expense. Now you tell us he is working with the Robain campiagn. He lives in Coral Gables, who is this guy and what rock did he crawl out from under. Who is he sleeping with or related to that places him in these evil doing circles ?

Geniusofdespair said...

You are so full of shit reader...you know exactly who Frank May is and don't try to bait me. Who are you, Lynda Bell? And I never said he worked for the Robaina campaign. The thread was about the negative calls AGAINST Hialeah.

Gosh o Mighty/Danny Bolanos:
Get over losing the election to a girl!!! Man up and run against the "nickel lady" and stop crying about 2009!!! And please don't talk about Robaina being self serving he learned it from his former Police Chief and Raul Martinez. And let's not even start about bimbos and mistresses. Oh and by the way I can imagine you know all about covering up crimes!

Who cares about Llorente? He will fizzle back into obscurity. The man is a joke. Also, ask the bars and lounges in Tallahassee about "family values".
