CHERNOBYL: A very silent reminder.

Japan has been upgraded to a category akin to Chernobyl.

In a typical city of Russia and America, it will read 10-12 microroentgen per hour. Here at Chernobyl they were getting dosages of thousands of roentgens (not micro).

Also go to Kids Of Speed. Go through the chapters at the bottom of the page. Elena takes a tour of the dead zone on her motorcycle and records what she finds for us and explains it as she goes. You can see much of the area that had to be evacuated because of radiation from the power plant. The towns and villages are still uninhabitable and it has been 25 years.

Now the country is cutting health benefits for the workers who sacrificed their health to help with the clean up. I feel so badly for them.

Don't fret, most of them are dead.

I saw a guy being interviewed who was a worker. I tore my heart out to think that a country could turn it's back on such a hero.
