Hole found in containment building at Turkey Point nuke facility. By Geniusofdespair

Read it, it is buried in the Herald. Is this yet another error at the Miami Herald or is it intentional: Look at the section of the Herald the Nuke article is online, Broward. It is really buried there, just like in the paper version. They say the corrosion hole is the size of a quarter, however, "Even with the concrete building intact, a hole the size of a pencil eraser in a steel liner could allow enough radiation to escape to threaten public safety, said Gundersen."(Arnold Gundersen, a Vermont-based nuclear engineer.)

Flinn and Bell: Take note, whomever wins, you are the first line of defense for families living near the plant. Don't take that role lightly. Don't betray the people in your district. The Commissioner in District 8 must be vigilant on Nukes. Actually, this is another reason to vote for Flinn, Bell has been a cheerleader for FPL. Flinn, not so much, at least he has been vocal against the proposed high tension lines.

Do I have time to read it before evacuation?

Good grief don't get me started on this.

They are finishing up the outage -- they are down to about 9 nuke workers from a team of 20. One of the guys I ran into the other evening at Dunkin in Florida City, said that he was on his way back to work. He said that they had been closing out the other guys contracts and only had a hand full of people left working long days to make up for it. He looked exhausted which is why I asked him what they were up to.

Fpl is a rogue corporation. Mark these words.

With 2 more reactors coming, I don't think either candidate is strong enough. I do believe Lynda Bell is worse than Flinn but not that much worse. He has been a wuss on the nuclear power plant.

Bell supports underground transmission lines.
Ask her instead of assuming.

Bell supports the expansion at Turkey Point. I personally couldn't care less about the transmission lines. I heard her speak in favor of the expansion at turkey point....for two new nuclear reactors. I didn't say what she was a cheerleader of...except FPL? Put your reading glasses on because my facts are correct.

Why does Bell support the expansion?
Because of JOBS! Now you're against jobs and employment, does Flinn know you support this?

I personally hope they build four reactors, desalinate the Atlantic waters and pump up the aquifers because 3% freshwater resources in the world just is not enough. They already do it in Tampa.

The Tampa desal has been nothing but trouble. Ten years and 50 percent over budget. Dream on.

Without doubt, a project just like Tampa is what we will get here... we always do get the shaft.

No wonder the children of keysgate are getting cancers at an alarming rate! There needs to be some accountabilty for this!!!!!

Keysgate parents - start talking to the Port St. Lucie parents. Also, talk to your kid's dentists and start banking their teeth. You can have those teeth tested you know.

The same idiots who say we need the plant because of "jobs" are the same ones screaming that the stimulus bill was "socialist."

Who do you think pays for the plant? You do - FPL pays nothing. The government guarantees the financing, so after you pay up front, even if the investment is a flop, you still pay instead of the utility.

Also, consider that FPL has been public about their plan to expand since 2002. How many jobs have they created at TP? So in another 10 years, after you've dumped money into the plant with higher electric bills for that whole time, they might, MIGHT, break ground.

Total waste of our money. I'm going to do what I can do dump FPL entirely so I won't be contributing to this fraud.
