Eugene Flinn's Campaign Report. By Geniusofdespair

From 8/20 - through 9/10 Eugene Flinn collected $4,510 for the District 8 election. What??? Too little. Only thing interesting was seeing my old friend Bill Losner and his wife Doylene on the report. Bill is pretty harmless at this point, retired and all, but he once was a royal pain in the ass. I suppose he still is to poor Doylene. The only interesting expenditure is the $5,500 Flinn had to pay Ben Kuehne to defend him in that Resign to Run slap suit -- remember Stephen Cody?

The report is pretty much a yawn. I am astounded he didn't get more money out of Stephen Bittel --- $250 is probably what this guy spends on valet tips a week. Also Monty Trainer is good for more than $200. Someone in this campaign is not working hard on fundraising. I have found that what candidates hate most doing is raising money. This appears to be one of those candidates. So all of you out there, give him some money by hitting on this link or else you might be looking at Lynda's face for the next 15 or 20 years!! Can't wait to see what Lynda raised.

Please donate whatever you can. It's really hard to run a grass roots campaign like he is doing. It takes money and not a lot seems to be coming in. If you DO NOT WANT LYNDA BELL as your next County Commissioner, please help out Eugene. Otherwise, you're going to get what Seijas paid for and you won't be happy about it!

This woman could be the next Dist. 8 Commissioner:

Grassroots? Funny. Flinn is close to having raised $ 100,000. Specifically $95,686.00 and if anyone bothered to look you’ll see donations from Building PAC’S, Lobbyist (Miguel Diaz De La Portilla amongst others) Developers, Contractors, etc. I personally like Bell less. I voted for Taddeo, But the facts are the facts. Kind of disappointed with your take on things Genius.

If he has raised $ from PACS representing police, fire and teachers, I am glad. I can't remember the last time those guys forced urban sprawl, rock mining or marlins stadiums down our throats. So be it. As far as Miguel De La Tortilla, he will kiss up to both sides and hope for the best. There will be alot of people giving to both sides. Take the money, I say. At this point, a candidate has to get across the finish line if he/she is going to have a chance to do good for the community. Please consider giving to Flinn.

Please consider giving to him, or even dropping in to assist with the campaign.

Fair enough Anon… does this look like fire a fighters pac, teacher pac? $ 500 ACTION COMMITTEE BUILDING INDURSTRY POLITICAL C/O BUILDERS ASSOC. OF SOUTH FLORIDA, 15225 NW 77 AVENUE, 1ST FLOOR MIAMI LAKES, FL 33014 look my point is about the facts, that’s all.

Get real.

Guys, this is just campaign money... Don't you give to organizations that don't always do things your way? Red Cross, Boy Scouts all come to mind in my experience.

Just because a candidates campaign gets a check in the mail doesn't mean the candidate has seen it and it certainly doesn't mean he/she is bought by 500 or even 2000 dollars ... That is not logical to believe.

I think they should take the money and use it to get into office. Then vote on the facts before them.

Anyone who knows Katy's voting record can check on her contributions in 2006. They didn't sway her vote and will not sway Eugene's vote either.

Campaigns take money. Lynda Bell is taking a lot of Rock Mining money and special interests funds, probably 10 times over what Eugene has taken in during the same period (in regard to special interests). She has a clear voting record that SHE WILL SUPPORT ROCK MINING AND SPECIAL INTERESTS, her voting record is on the City of Homestead website.

So, for me, Eugene Flinn is the ONLY choice for District 8. His campaign needs money - I don't see a lot coming in, do you? If he needs to take funds from special interests, so be it. It doesn't mean it's going to sway his voting one way or the other. He's a lot like Katy when it comes to these issues.

how did Flinn transfer funds from his state house account to his county account? is that legal?

ONCE a royal pain in the ass? Losner should be in jail for what he did to Homestead and South Dade. Single-handedly with his buddy Eppling. That's right, in jail instead of yachting.

I have been reporting on contributions as they come in. You are far behind. That makes you an ass.

All of you out there I have explained how to look at a campaign report. The Torisce money to Lynda is much more troubling then $500 from a jerky old geezer like Bill. I have about 100 emails from Losner. He at least has a warped sense of humor. Once when I was collecting money for Kerry , Losner sent me a check... For George Bush. Warped...but funny. I sent it to the Bush campaign.

It is of course all you fault people. If you would finance a campaign the candidates wouldn't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for money. Unless it gets really ugly I don't care about these donations. THEY HAVE TO HAVE MONEY to win. When I see more than a few thousand from one entity (Torisce- rock miner, developer) I will complain.

You're right Genius. Losner is that annoying boy you sat next to in junior high. He never grew up. He is one of the Homestead good old boys who always cause problems. He stood in the way of Redland incorporation for years. The past few years he has not been a threat but he was one for a long time. Troublemaker with a capital T, but I wouldn't vote for Lynda even if Satan himself gave to Gene.

Not sure if this went through before, so retrying.

You're saying someone voted for Taddeo and is criticizing FLINN'S campaign report??? Taddeo raised twice as much as Flinn, and some of it was from the Marlins organization!

Geniusofdespair said...

BTW -- my first email to Losner, I asked:

"Are you happy that everyone thinks you are a buffoon?"

That fits in with your junior high description of him anonymous above.

Anonymous said...

Losner is helping Flinn because his son is helping. Who cares about his baggage? what is this junior high?
neither candidate is so great but at least they are both better than Pepe Diaz.

Anonymous said...

Flinn is endorsed by Katy herself and the Herald. Last anon, I don't know where you get your information from but Losner (neither father/son have) have anything to do with his campaign other than Bill and his wife writing a check.

All these Homestead losers think they are running the district. Self-important 'no' nothings should stay on the sidelines.

Geniusofdespair said...

Don't forget his most important endorsement reader above: EOM.

Anonymous said...

Period, end of story! Well said.

Anonymous said...

Kendall, I agree, but I think you meant to write "know nothings" and I call it Hudstead, not Homestead!

And, yes, Genius, I forgot to write about your endorsement, my bad!

The front runner in one of the most important races in the County and he reported only $4,500 in contributions?

Are we really THAT gullible?

I don't know what Flinn is doing but this smells...really bad. I hope that he has not been listening to the darker forces funding his campaign.

I know he wants to be Commissioner but ambition sometimes supercedes intelligence.

Genuis, who is Flinn's campaign consultant/s?

He was not the top money-raiser in the primary, and he did okay then.

Yea, Flinn did very well with the little money he received but Bell did great with the pitance she got too.
