Commissioner Martinez Wants the Money From the Oil Spill, Votes Against the Protection. By Geniusofdespair

This was the resolution at the County Commission May 18th that Commissioner Joe Martinez voted against:

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUATION OF THE FEDERAL MORATORIUM ON OFFSHORE OIL AND GAS DRILLING TO PROTECT FLORIDA’S COAST AND TOURISM-RELATED INDUSTRY; URGING CONGRESS NOT TO ALLOW FOR SUCH OFFSHORE DRILLING; OPPOSING ANY EFFORT BY THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO ALLOW FOR OFFSHORE DRILLING NEAR THE FLORIDA COAST

Note the tourism part. Now listen to what he said on this video. Greedy bastard wants the money from BP's spill to push tourism but he doesn't want to protect Florida's coast with a yes vote. He refers to Governor Crist as the 'Independent' that is why they are laughing at the end. Remember him when he runs for Mayor of Miami-Dade:

If you can't see the video hit here. This 50 second video is a must see!

What does he get out of voting against it?

He can't say Governor Crist? He has to say "the independent'?

Nitwit.

Personally I feel bad for LA...they are getting creamed....and now even Texas.

Didn't those states support offshore drilling? They should get hammered.

Why does Miami-Dade County deserve a red cent of this money? We have not suffered any losses here. That money should be kept were the damage is being done, not in some corrupt politicians coffers.
