The governor and cabinet's Final Order said Lowes Big Box Store was found out of compliance and they also limited the precedential adverse impact of the Brown Amendment.
The County is ordered to rescind the Ordinance allowing the Lowe's store on the other side of the Urban Development Boundary within 60 days. The unreformable majority on the County Commission that originally approved it should hang their heads.

great news!!
I'm so glad my tax dollars were used to keep this going...
It is good to have elected officials finally make the correct decision. Having to go this far at taxpayer expense demonstrates how little the majority of county commissioners care about their constituents. This also helps explain why there is no money for anything except sprawl and pet projects of major fundraisers.
Magnificent victory for the people who tend this blog and their allies. On behalf of all the people of Florida, whether they know it or not, thank you for protecting our interests in a long and difficult struggle.
Great! Does this mean no more Parkland, Krome Gold and CSX ?
I think it means the County Commission wouldn't approve anything anytime soon on the other side of the UDB....unless they are idiots.
A good day for smart growth!
That's so sensible. Shocking.
If anyone votes for Bill McCollum after reading the quotes in the Miami Herald tomorrow ....you should be shot. See it here...tomorrow
Great reporting. Hold the Line!
