Vent Here Readers: Trying To Figure Out Why So Many Miamians are Wacky. By Geniusofdespair

Yes, I know the theory has it's detractors...but just for fun let's apply it in our minds to the politicians in Florida, specifically in Miami Dade County and to our friends and neighbors who vote like idiots.

From: Wikepedia: "Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often depicted as a pyramid consisting of five levels: the four lower levels are grouped together as being associated with Physiological needs, while the top level is termed growth needs associated with psychological needs. Deficiency needs must be met first. Once these are met, seeking to satisfy growth needs drives personal growth. The higher needs in this hierarchy only come into focus when the lower needs in the pyramid are satisfied."

Has anyone in Miami satisfied their lower needs? I think most are stuck in the "love and belonging" section and below. Where is The Vile Natacha on the hierarchy and the little bully Martinez...and Rubio? (Hit on image to enlarge it.)

Natacha is at the excretion stage. She has ego but no real self-esteem. She certainly isn't respected by others. Wait a minute: I see "employment" under safety. I will have to correct myself and say she has reached the safety stage because the County Commission is her life.

Rubio: I would say below Esteem although he Is confident to the point of egocentric.

I don't think any county commissioner, except Sorenson and Jimenez, is at self-actualization.

You might be on to something: THEY CAN'T GET ANY BETTER.

seriously, these commissioners have stunted development. now everything is much clearer. it all makes so much sense.

breathing and sleep...that must be where there focus is. i don't know what homestasis means but i think they spend a lot of time on that...

Homeostasis:

The tendency of an organism or cell to regulate its internal conditions, such as the chemical composition of its body fluids, so as to maintain health and functioning, regardless of outside conditions.

In human beings, the homeostatic regulation of body temperature involves such mechanisms as sweating when the internal temperature becomes excessive and shivering to produce heat, as well as the generation of heat through metabolic processes when the internal temperature falls too low.

I guess we now know why the County Commission chamber is either too hot or too cold. The commissioners are trying to do one of the only things they are focused on: regulating their body temperatures on our dime, without using any internal energy doing it!

I think there should be another layer below the bottom.

Maybe it could be single cell amoeba functions...something slimy or at least gross to the touch.

I think that people regress to physiological as they age. I know more about my mother-in-laws bodlily functions than I care to. Her main topic of conversation is: Her. Her health, her living circumstance and her aides is what I hear about.

I think we are basically at levels 1 and 2, physiological and safety. It is very difficult to get a decent conversation from people here. Working on a project where you have to actually "move the chains", is even worse. Creativity in problem-solving is almost non-existent. We have lots of work to do here.
