Mayor Gimenez: Let's Put A Road in The Everglades. By Geniusofdespair

Mercy, Mercy Me...Oh Things Ain't What They Used To Be....Green Paradise And They Put Up A Parking Lot.

Why fool around skirting the edges, just develop the whole Everglades,  it is only a swamp.

Just look at Weston. You will know what is coming...why are gators eating people, dogs etc.? I can figure that one out very easily.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH BUILDING ROADS, THE DEVELOPMENT VERY QUICKLY  FILLS IN AROUND IT:

Is that where the road is going?

Of Course. Don't you believe me?

Building more roads, especially in undeveloped areas does not reduce traffic, instead it does the opposite and increases the number of cars and trucks on the roadways. This appears to be a developers wet dream.

Had a Moratorium been in effect 10 years ago in west Kendall the 836 Extension could have been placed East away from the wetlands.
NO-----THE DEVELOPERS NEEDED THEIR PAYBACK----(CAMPAIGNCONTRIBUTIONS)

Florida is a developers state. The local budgets count on a rather large amount of development revenue. Miami Beach just paid a firm to study how to relax the building permit process once again. Study your local government budget figures. Get a good grasp of how dire the situation is. Continual growth mode to sustain fixed salary obligations that are unrealistic.

Between the shopping monster to the north and and all the traffic on all these new roads we are Never going to go north-south out of the county because everybody is going to be on 6 Lane highways and and the rest of us are going to be trying to get onto the mega roads + trying to get outside of our neighborhoods.

Who cares? Honestly

This is ridiculous.

After this, they will waive the competitive bidding and give the road construction to one of their political contributors.

Then, the native animals of the Everglades will either finally be all gone or end up in somebody's neighborhood, hungry, confused and looking disoriented (like the rest of us).

This county gets crazier by the day!

Those animals can go someplace else. good riddance.
