Why Am I Running For Office? By Geniusofdespair

First day of Christmas:

Because I have concerns.....

My opponent lists as his address:

The owner of the single family zoned, 3 bedroom - 3 bath home is:

If David Olin is renting the house to Duran - Abrams, then I shouldn't be seeing the Homestead deduction. According to the Property Appraisers office, if you rent for more than 1 month in a calendar year, you cannot take a Homestead Exemption for that year, in this case 2016 -- If Duran did live at the Coconut Grove address for more than 30 days in 2016. (David Olin did relinquish his Homestead Exemption in 2017).

From a State of Florida Powerpoint establishing residency:

The couple did live in Miami Shores, Ne. 4th Avenue Road and other North addresses. The last address Duran gave in April 2016 was 780 NE 69 Street. Could be his campaign headquarters. However, I do not know when they all moved to 2900 Calusa Street. If they moved in before December 1 2016, then Olin owes some homestead money.

Nothing earth shattering here, we have to look at the sugar money, don't want to get into the DUI's....

On the second day of Christmas....More to come,

Mr. Duran should explain his living situation in a home that takes a homestead exemption by Mr. Olin. Does Mr. Olin live in the home with Mr. Duran? This seems very curious. Does Mr. Duran really live in the district he represents?

They may be in a three way open relationship which is OK to me.

Lobbyist father-in-law, hires his cousin to be a staffer and abuses his state representative job to get millions in state grants for his non-profit... and now he's helping homestead fraud?

We don't know there was homestead fraud as we are missing dates.

How do you plan to win when Duran and his Papa will do anything to ingratiate themselves to both Democrats and Republicans?

When a legislator's lifestyle and finances, like Duran's are dependent upon the lobbyists and legislative leaders (i.e. Republicans) approving his budget every year, expect to have that legislator be their Do-Boy.

You gotta burn a few eggs to make an omelette.

Congratulations Nancy. Don't let the political handlers get at you. Don't feel intimidated. They are scared of you. The louder and angrier they get, the more fear they feel of you.

In the Grove, many homes have "mother in law" cottages on the property. In the rules for homestead exemption, there is a clause that discusses the owners maintaining residence on a majority of the property. I don't know about how its worded, but the issue comes up with the issue of losing homestead exemption when renting the cottages out as vacation rentals. Anyway, if you look at the property description, you see that it has 2 units. From the air, the cottage looks pretty small. Perhaps Duran is not living with his wife and living in the cottage. If the owner is living in the cottage and Duran has the main house, then the owner could be endangered of losing his exemption.

Good luck on your run. You have my vote! Are you a democrat again?

Thanks so much for stepping up. We have got to get back to Kennedy's words: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
