I Didn't Have An Interest in Sweetwater...Until Wayne Rosen's Name Popped Up! By Geniusofdespair

Wayne Rosen

Really, does anyone even know where Sweetwater is? I have no clue, near Doral I think. And if they have any water I suspect some of it might be polluted, especially because WAYNE ROSEN name turned up there.   Wayne has abused the yokels in and around Homestead  funding bad candidates since I started this blog (I have written about him almost 30 times).. After all, he did fund Lynda Bell's Commission campaign (or a PAC for Bell) after he funded Steve Bateman's Mayoral campaign to oust Lynda Bell as Mayor.  Those two left a bitter taste in Homesteader's mouths.  Lately he has been in the news about the upkeep of a golf course in Keys Gate. Or should I say lack of upkeep. It is a weeded, overgrown field.

Rosen has been branching out into Palmetto Bay affairs (but there is developable land there). Now here he is involved in the quagmired politics of Sweetwater. What is he up to in Sweetwater? He helped finance a campaign to recall the Mayor - Orlando Lopez - who ran on a platform to reform the City of Cronyism (the previous Mayor is/was in jail). Anyway, I don't care about the Sweetwater recall but the motivation behind the funding of it --- that I care about.

Here is Sweetwater. Golly, have I ever been there. I don't see water.

The Miami Herald reported today that Rosen funded  the recall campaign with a $20,000 donation.

Why is Wayne Rosen involved? He doesn't just dole out money. If he did he would fix up that golf course in Hudstead. Doesn't he usually have his eye on a return? This recall might not have happened/been successful if they didn't have his money.

Recalls are a bitch to launch. You have to get forms notarized and hire people to collect signatures (about $1.50 to $2 each). Then you have to pay elections to certify each signature.  $20,000 can be the difference in success or failure. What did Mayor Orlando Lopez do to Wayne? Probably nothing. I just think there is more to this recall than meets the eye. Any suspicions? I know X-Commissioner Lynda Bell's daughter had the fencing contract in Sweetwater. And what is with that helicopter there? Looney place.

People are saying that the recall is the right thing in this case. He is aligned with the shamed Mayor and his mom.

J.C. Planas is a Wayne mouthpiece and he is running the circus for recall. Might be a retainer for future Rosen nonsense.

Wayne is flush with cash now just sold property to DR Horton for $8,000,000 122 Ave and 248 St.

MNT reports on Sweetwater: Less surprising is that Sweetwater, arguably Miami-Dade's most corrupt city, has mysteriously obtained a bunch of military toys. Under bath-salt-battling ex-mayor Manny MaroƱo — now in prison for accepting bribes — Sweetwater got an ATV, a "commando" armored car, four observation helicopters, three scooters, five trucks, a mine-resistant vehicle, four M14s, 20 M16s, and a grenade launcher.

Wayne Rosen may be all that and more but he is also a bright businessman. Wayne knows that FIU is expanding into Sweetwater with two large dorm buildings constructed there in the last three years and many more to come. Wayne is looking for an angle to construct which is what he is good at. He probably jumped on the recall bandwagon because he knows what side will win. If you follow local news closely you know that the recall group collected almost 2000 signatures from citizens even though they only needed 950. Apparently the current mayor has missed 80% of the council meetings, he has tried to raise and double taxes and hired several City of Miami cops at high salaries even though their budget is shot. Those reasons alone should be good enough to recall that mayor.

Lopez is Manny Maronos business associate in towing business. Don't know Wayne's motivation exactly on this one but Lopez has made things worse by hiring incompetent cronies. Lopez should be recalled and the fact that elections department verified almost all the signatures says voters in Sweetwater agree.

Wayne is good at corrupting the elected and the appointed.

Every time Wayne Rosen is called in as a witness for the State he has blanket immunity.

Why? Who else is on the Shores Development payroll? Where is the FBI?

Look ahead to who may be in the wings waiting for this paid elected position to open up. I am sure Wayne is helping a current officer holder.

This blog needs to partner with a Spanish language blogger. There are lots of stories in these cities, and reformers need to have a "go to" resource to find out all the local info.

Rosen is in bed with Jose Diaz the County Commissioner who wants to return to the city as Mayor once he ousts Lopez. Diaz has promised Rosen favoritism in contrasts and projects. Beware of what you hear: Lopez isn't even in the towing business! Moreover, the mayor proposed a balanced budget and the commission approved it - in other words it's the commission who raised taxes.
They had to because the city was out of money. Further, Lopez is in his office EVERY DAY. He does not have to attend commission meetings (read the rules)..that's not part of the requirements of his position. That's how the commission and "Pepe" Diaz work: Spread rumors and then sit back and let the lies spread.
