The Dilemma Facing Trump Supporters: Gas lighting. By Geniusofdespair

All the media reports said it was a terse, rude conversation. Donald Trump at 6 am this morning, says all news is fake and it was a civil conversation. I could not find any statement from the Prime Minister to refute or validate the tweet since he insists on remaining diplomatic in his statement. This is what Turnbull said according to Aljazeera:
Australian government sources told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation the report was "substantially accurate".

Turnbull said he was disappointed details of the "very frank and forthright" exchange had been leaked.

"As far as the call is concerned I'm very disappointed that there has been a leak of purported details of the call in Washington," he told Sydney radio station 2GB.
"But I want to make one observation about it - the report that the president hung up is not correct. The call ended courteously."
Gas lighting at it's best. If all news is fake, then you have to trust that Donald Trump is telling the truth. "Very nice" indeed! We have a file on gas lighting.

And let us not forget that he lost the popular vote by millions. Ah, the bloody electoral college - a ridiculous, arcane, and rigged system at best. Hitler has been resurrected and Bannon can now take off his peaked white cap with approved license bt the fuhrer.

Trump is mentally unstable. His attack on our civil liberties has only began. Here is a man who has not paid taxes in 20 years and a group of billionaires and millionaires on an all out power grab. They will use every opportunity available to them to whittle away their opposition and lead us by the nose to a totalitarian state. Our founding fathers would be astounded to find out we have a king-wanna-be in our midst. The unthinkable has happened. There may a come a time when this Hitler-like dictator may have to be deposed by force. I hope we are still strong enough to defend our Constitution.

I have great disdain for Trump. But he stumbled on something the magnitude of which I was not aware until the travel ban went into effect. I knew we in Miami had an illegal immigrant problem because of our location and proximity to South America, and various island countries. However I did not know the numerical magnitude of both the legal and illegal immigrants in the nation as a whole. Trump denied entrance of 100,000 visas in one day, that is a whole city of people legally. If you multiply that by 365 days per year, that is 35.6 million people legally with visas in one year. Even if Trump got jobs to stay here, they are not going to hire Trump supporters. They are going to hire low wage immigrants legal or illegal. And the cost of giving basic support to all these immigrants must be astronomical! I now agree on this one issue, that we need to take a good look at where we are with this.

It is my understanding that one of the major factors leading to the war in Syria is the lack of rain for years caused by climate change. With no water, people could not sustain the farms, and they had to come to the cities to survive. They say it is the worse drought in 900 years, and they think it is because of global warming. Once they got to the cities, tensions emerged, then the war. With regime change on the table too it is a mess and a lot of people have died, or fled to other countries. With the earth heating up, there maybe many more millions of people displaced around the globe. Failure of nations to prepare, will only lead to more mass migrations, especially when the ice melts and oceans rise and claim more land.

What kinds of financial support from the US government do immigrants get when they arrive with visas? Exactly what is the value in dollar amounts given? What funding sources in the US budget provides these funds?
