You are paying for Rich Seniors to Attend the Jewish Community Center- Michael Ann Russell JCC

There is a Federal program set up for low income seniors to enroll in and attend gyms, called Quality of Life. The only problem is the JCC in North Miami Beach has a host of well-heeled seniors enrolled in the program. What gives? They say the people enrolled before the income was a requirement. Why don't they reevaluate these members? This is not Silver Sneakers that the insurance companies pay for. YOU PAY FOR THIS PROGRAM for all the Lexus owners. I think they are taking advantage of the system at a cost to over-burdened taxpayers and should reevaluate the enrolled.

I don't like the tone of this. It's antisemitic. You don't need to single out Jews, especially when referring to JCC.

Agreed with Barbara Dyer--The program (or this part of it may suck) but your headline sucks worse. Anyone who doesn't know that is simply foolish--and perhaps anti-?? No excuses--an apology will do.

No apology. I am Jewish by marriage. This facility markets itself as a Jewish entity, look at their website. Most of the clientele are Jewish. If I wrote Hispanic would that make you happy? You wouldn't have read the article without the title as you are a troll looking specifically for any example you precieve to be anti Semitic. This is Donald Trump like, get used to it.

The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center or the MAR JCC, or as the locals call it "the J", is a Jewish Community Center in the United States. It is located in North Miami Beach, Florida, a suburb of Miami. Wikipedia

Do you have to be Jewish to go to the MAR JCC? If not, then your title did seem anti-semitic. It could have simply been that we are paying for rich people to attend programs at the J.

Being Jewish by marriage is the reason that you could write that headline--you haven't had to put up with the so-called subtle comments about Jews for your entire life as some of us have.

And being Jewish by marriage is very similar to "some of my best friends are Jewish" and that is supposed to give you a free pass to say what you want and it isn't supposed to be offensive?

We aren't trolling, we are just voicing a concern on one of our favorite blogs.

My tax dollars being used for the betterment of the elderly, rich or poor, doesn't bother me at all. It's called socialism and I would much rather have my money being used here than corporate welfare, the continuation of the US war machine, or the creation of charter schools.

I have been at the crosshairs of discrimination from my mother in law trashing Christians. I over looked it and I think the rest of you are being too critical and fragile. I changed the title by moving a word around. Satisfied? If Donald Trump wins you had better put your ear plugs in because you will not have politically correct to fall back on.

Wow GOD, looks like you ruffled the wrong feathers this time lol

Donald Trump is a fascist, as is the entire gop'er party. HRC is a DINO; what does your former regrettable title have to do with an of that? But the change is good.

It was not regretable and I don't regret it. Not for a second. Not while people are looking away and are silent while Mexicans and Muslims as trashed.

Of course they are rich Jews, it's the JCC, dear g.o.d., these people are idiots. Rich Jews don't mind getting free gym but I am sure most of them vote against food stamps for poor people. Nothing anti-semitic, if they don't want people calling them out for this, buy your own damn membership at Planet Fitness.
