"This planet can provide for human need. But not for human greed" -Ghandi Thank you for sharing. What a great Christmas message. Especially as we all shop for things no one really needs and excess food no one will eat. While others go without essential things they really do need - basic food, clean water, healthcare, shelter, a living planet, the rest of us mindlessly consume.
What a lovely face Jane has. Gentle and kind appearance. I don't have speakers on on my computer. So, I got to watch the video based on her facial expressions and the words on the screen. Very poignant.
Jane is a great human being who recognizes that all animals have just as much right to be here and to be respected as we do. She is spot on regarding her comments on human overpopulation. The people of the world need to unite and promote a serious plan to limit human reproduction to a sustainable level. The tipping point was reached a long time ago. Does anyone remember a book called "This Spaceship Earth" and the theory of Zero Population Growth? That came out about 40 years ago when the earth's human population reached 4 billion. Now the number is well over 7 billion. Humanity is over populating itself into plagues, famines, droughts etc., which is a very painful form of population reduction. Doesn't it make more sense for governments to strongly promote the use of birth control, and make it available to all, especially the poor who have babies without the means to feed them? Combine this problem with climate change, and we're goners. I feel sorry for those younger than myself.I'm a baby boomer. I and many of my peers chose not to have children. That was the unselfish and intelligent choice. The problem is the people who have more than one child per person, esp. people like the Duggars who have 19 children. In South Miami, we use an average of 117 gallons of water per day, per person, which is less than the county average. based on that number, do the math for water use by a large family. Also, our city has a lot of new high end MacMansions being built (very unfortunately). One "house" will be 6,000 square feet with NINE bathrooms! Also, every new house will have a swimming pool!!! We have a community pool! Our mayor, Phil Stoddard said that if we got the pool, new families moving to South Miami won't have to build a pool for $20,000 because we have a pool for all to use! People want the privacy of their own pool. They have no desire to go public. Our per capita water consumption will go way up when these multi-millionaires move in and fill up their pools. They had better use salt water or we'll have nothing left to drink.

Lovely and so eloquent in it's basic simplicity.
