Can't remember the name of the hotel where he is staying. "I had a Sloppy Joe's at Sloppy Joe's." Two drinks, three or four hours ago. Two rum and cokes and a champagne. Now it is 7 PM. He is incoherent five hours later? Pepe Diaz knows the camera is on. Pepe Diaz, "I am trying to do my job. Have a good time." Now he is making the excuse that he fell over because he had been burnt on his leg. Now he says he can't walk (test for drugs and drinking) because of his burn. Officer asks for some field sobriety tests. Now he says he has inner ear problems. "I'm telling you I do have a balance issue. I have a "balance bracelet". Police, "How does the bracelet help you balance? I never heard of that before." Police officer tests Pepe Diaz' eye movement, following a beam of red light. Police officer: "we are going to walk this white line, here. Place your left foot on that line. Arms by your side. When I say go, what I would like you to take nine heel-toe steps counting your steps. On ninth step, take a series of small steps. Once you start do not stop. Count your steps out loud. Do you understand all the instructions?" Says it twice. Pepe does the walk. Officer: "Now I want you to raise your foot six inches off the ground." Pepe Diaz: "Tell me again. How long?" Officer: "Count one thousand one, one thousand two ... and so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Keep arms at your side. You can begin." Pepe Diaz counts off. Police officer: "Tilt your head back and close your eyes. When you think thirty seconds has passed, tilt your head forward. Open your eyes, and stop. Estimate the passage of thirty seconds. Do you understand the instructions?" "Touch the tip of your nose with your left finger. When I tell you, touch the tip of your nose with your right finger. Tilt your head back and close your eyes." The officer doesn't comment on the results. Then the officer summits to breathalyzer test. Diaz refuses. Bottom line: this is like sitting through a county commission meeting and listening to Pepe Diaz. Without any of the fun.
