Scary Nuke Video, not for children...or adults. By Geniusofdespair

We are responsible for over half of the nuke blasts (we did 1,032). Maybe living out West isn't such a good idea after all.

Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998. This leaves out North Korea's two alleged nuclear tests in this past decade (the legitimacy of both of which is not 100% clear).

Each nation gets a blip and a flashing dot on the map whenever they detonate a nuclear weapon, with a running tally kept on the top and bottom bars of the screen. Hashimoto, who began the project in 2003, says that he created it with the goal of showing"the fear and folly of nuclear weapons." It starts really slow — if you want to see real action, skip ahead to 1962 or so — but the buildup becomes overwhelming.

The video is based on Nils-Olov Bergkvist and Ragnhild Ferm's co-published work by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. The Swede's have little to do on those short days...that is why such good research comes out of there.

Very impressive,
and the leading warmonger from the get go is......... yup it's us. To bad, it did not shield us against box cutters and the ensuing 1984 style stasi state.

Thanks to the Chamberlainist progressive, JCPOA, means in 2030 Iran won't need boxcutters any more.

Turkey Point FPL;S nuke plant is leeching into 180 miles of canals everyday. There is no more room for the spent rods and the canals are boiling. The SFWMD just issued a permit for an additional 100 MILLION GALLONS A DAY,To try and fend off the inevitable. That's fresh water which equals about 5 cities daily needs worth of water. We don't have to worry about Iran FPL is doing a bang up job of trying kill us all. I really think we need to stop worrying about the middle east and demand we take care of us right here right now. The political doctrine is to wave at us with one hand and slap the crap out of us with the other.
