County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, spearheading the climate change issue at the County, said she has been talking to Presidential Candidate Marco Rubio about climate change. Rebeca was a mentor of Rubio's when he was holding office locally and they have remained close friends. So it appears he is not able to ignore the subject with Rebeca in his ear.

Has Rebeca Sosa ever said publicly that climate change is caused by humans? She banned the words climate change from her County resolutions only using the words sea level rise, but not addressing what caused it. Why is that?

The County needs to support the EPA clean power plan now because reducing carbon is the only hope of slowing down the rate and severity of sea level rise and other impacts of climate change. There is no time for little steps on this. There is only time for Gimenez, Sosa and all the others who are focused on the impacts to get behind the main actually that will reduce them -- curbing carbon. Sosa and Gimenez should get out in front of Rubio on this issue and say climate change is real, it's man-made and we're going to take adaptation steps, but we also realize that the biggest step is to throw our support behind national carbon reduction.
Not happy with crumbs! What a dumbass attitude. That's why the public is always getting screwed. And the politicians know they can get away with giving us crumbs. Get some self esteem people! We deserve better.
