A good barf with our coffee and cereal...we all need it!
This has been on the back page of the main section of the Miami Herald. I saw it last week too. Yes the whole damn back page, on a Sunday, and in color!!! It apparently is not a full page ad because the Miami Herald doesn't say "advertisement." I included the margins for you so you can verify what I tell you. Was this free? Is it news? Filler? Public Service? I suppose it is a REALLY EXPENSIVE ad.
Now these Demetrio Perez Jr. ads are not only a hoot, they are really barfable material if you read them. Apparently he forgot who he is and many of the things he has done. This is way up on our barf meter. OMG do we really have people this vain in our community?
You will remember that Demetrio Perez's son lived in a tool shed in his yard to run for school board. That didn't fly because he ran when the Miami Herald actually did some investigating. Anyway, Demetrio Perez is the Lincoln Marti School owner. I am racing out to buy his book...280 glossy pages. AKKK!! There are no book stores over here. Darn. I will wait till it is in the library.
I think there is a lot of good that could be done with the money for these ads. Donate it to me Demetrio so I can do an in depth look at your schools.

DP just gave thousands to Merv Waldman in Homestead. Speaking of vain being term limited in Homestead means just like the Sarnoffs in Miami you can fool voters and attempt to milk the system and govern thru your spouse.
These are three very self centered examples of what is wrong in Miami.
This is a public service ad. Anyone can see that. He is a pillar of our community and the Miami Herald knows it.
The book publisher is running the ads not Perez. That is why you should not call him vain. He did not write the ad, they did.
I believe this has to be self-published.
In 2002, Perez pleaded guilty to felony charges of defrauding three elderly tenants in low-income Little Havana apartments that he owned. The original indictment alleged that Perez operated a scheme to defraud the Section 8 program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and charged him with mail fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, and making false statements on federal forms. As part of a plea bargain with prosecutors, Perez was subsequently sentenced to six months of house arrest and 18 months of probation.
Yes this is a pillar of our community.
I wonder if any of that lying/fraud/arrest stuff is in his book? I would think not.
Apparently he has a short memory of his OWN transgressions. Defrauding little old ladies what a low life.
So the new scam is Head Start dollars laundered through the L-M schools to politicians and the desperate for dollars of any kind Herald. Nobody at the Herald cares, felon takes out an entire backpage ad to promote himself, erase the past and advertise for his business. The Herald says how can we help? When they should have done a background check and investigate his influence.
Let's not forget Demetrio flying the United States flag upside down during the Elian Gonzalez situation. This is the thanks we get for making him a millionaire from the island. This was a painful thing he did to all USA citizens. Cheating the elderly: Probably mismanagement of Section 8: Flying the USA flag upside down: Corruption in politics. What else has he done or doing against our government for his own benefit?
Having lived in South Florida most of my life, I have followed Demetrio Perez, Jr.'s political life since the early 1970s. I can attest that he is the poster child for political corruption in this area. His association to Radio Mambi AM 710's news director Armando Perez Roura gave him access to thousands of elderly Cuban listeners who gladly gave him absentee ballots for his chosen candidates in every election. The pillars of those creepy Lincoln Marti schools are built on very shaky ground. I pity those families who trust and send their children to Parez Jr.'s "educational fronts", they serve only to rip off our government of every federal grant afforded to education.
This is the guy Jeb Bush took out of office after he was indicted on dozens of counts. Any politician that would take money from him is lower than whale feces.
Perez is up to something. Can he run for Regalado's School Board seat?
